The Pentastar Alignment had special inquisitorial troops and my suggestion is having these cool looking storm troopers spawn with inquisitor Jerec and possibly a generic inquistor for later Pentastar Alignment campaigns. https://www.starwars.com/news/the-imperial-warlords-despoilers-of-an-empire-part-1

The submod I and a few others are working on will have them as escorts to Halmere and with generic Dark Jedi Inquistiors(also Inquisitor reskins!)

Star Wars Discussion / Re: Solo [WITH SPOILER]
« on: June 16, 2018, 01:19:03 PM »
Just saw this today and I really don't get all the hate.  For me this edges out Rogue One near the top of my list of SW movies because the story flowed better and I found I cared more about the new characters than I did in RO or TLJ and the characterisation of the familiar didn't feel too alien.

Lando's sassy female droid was a nice reflection of Legends (I know Vuffi was male) with a modern twist and also that nod to the Mindharp of Sharu was good for those versed in Legends material.  Having Lando keep and then lose the Falcon while cheating at Sabacc was quite funny but the way I figure it that still leaves plenty of scope for a future movie to explain the whole "double-crossing no good swindler" thing from ESB alongside tying up that Crimson Dawn story with Maul and the love interest.

All in all I really enjoyed the movie, with the only "off" bits for me being the boss lady on Corellia (who just reminded me of the librarian from Monsters University) and the space alien during the Kessel Run.  I'm surprised but quite glad that they didn't dump TFA's Maz Kanata into the second Sabacc scene although my head-canon has already turned that into her crib.

I'll put in the basics of why it bothers me.
Firstly Han now has the same problem as Rey in TFA and TLJ, he doesn't work to gain any of his skills, nor is there any deeper meaning behind any of his actions now.
Han's iconic blaster? Did you think he customized it and worked it himself? Nope, just a random drop off from a guy who put two parts together and tossed it to him. His iconic name? Nope, random officer joke, the Millenium Falcon modifications Han mentions in OT, nah those were always there apparently. His piloting skills, rather than being honed through years of experience he just sort of has, he's apparently always just been good at Sabacc, having Han actually learn and build off these elements while failing would give us more reason to identify with him as a character and make him more believable. In the OT Han has these skills but it was put in that he'd built them up after a lifetime of smuggling. Instead of a human with flaws that has that Solo charm built up over experiences, Han is now a Gary Stu.
Chewie has apparently been eating humans-let that sink in-and he spares Han because Han asks him in Wookie not to...but Chewie understands Basic...so han just asked him the same question twice.
Lando is virtually unused in the film for the most part, other than piloting them there and his card scene he doesn't really add anything to the film and feels under utilized, his relationship with the droid is-odd to say the least-though in SW there have been characters who banged droids(well at least HRD's that mimic organics in nearly every way so it makes a bit more sense) but the SJW droid just felt out of place, it had some quips I liked(like when Lando asks if it needs anything and it says, "Equal rights?") and the idea of a droid that wants equality is kind of an interesting concept, but the problem is that when it 'frees' all the other droids and they immediately begin something resembling a riot it just makes me think-well do R2 and 3PO think they are slaves? Do ALL droids just silently SCREAM and have their own sexual needs? Was there an actual point to this other than blatant commentary on an SJW trendy issue? Also why is Lando distressed when it is shot? He can literally REPAIR it, it's a droid, grab the memory unit and put it into ANY other droid, it's not like a person.(I actually laughed when he tried pulling it back in and it broke in two-I know it was supposed to be sad and serious but frankly it was humorous)
The Criminal Syndicates grip makes no sense...the Empire has taken over the Galaxy and is the ultimate expression of 'Lawful Evil" yet Imperial Governors can just be executed by Syndicate members with...zero consequence? Even Black Sun at it's height couldn't do that without consequence. Han's mentor's betrayal-while being about as obviously set up as Han dying in TFA-also makes little sense in that he could shoot the Syndicate Boss and them all in that scene and escape-which was his motivation at that point.
The Ravagers...are just...no, I mean what happened to Bail Organa, Mon Mothma and their lot founding the Rebellion(even in Canon) so these Ravagers are the Rebellion's origin hinted now?
Then finally and I say this with utter complete unabashed anger
WHY THE KRIFFING SITHSPIT NERFHERDING EMPERORS BLACK BONES DO WE NEED DARTH MAUL BACK AGAIN?!!!
What is people's obsession with him? He looked cool and was played by a kickass actor, that's IT. He has no development, zero investment and zero depth-(wait now that you mention it his popularity with the majority of people is making more sense...all style, no substance or thought required!)
We had Darth Maul light in Savage Oppress, then we got Darth Maul AGAIN, then in Rebels, now in a Film in IMPERIAL TIME? We know he dies to Kenobi, we know he has no larger effect on the galaxy, he's just mindless fanservice at this point.

While I deeply like Ewan Mcgregor as Obi Wan(easily one of the best parts of the prequels) I don't think the story has anything new to offer-unless there's a forbidden romance between Tuskens and the settlers and Ewan plays Pocahontas...

As to Boba Fett...no, I don't have any real hope for that one.

Discussion, Suggestions & Feedback / Re: New Units thought.
« on: June 14, 2018, 02:42:16 PM »
Interesting. Do you have any "themes" in mind for warlord ground units? I had some thoughts regarding small speeder bike units and mini tanks like the PX 10 for Maldrood (canon explanation being expeditionary units ferried up from the deep core by Kosch), but am unsure. Essentially they'd have lots and lots of cheap and expendable units- even more expendable than infantry or tie maulers.

Space is actually quite easy, I have realised- Zsinj has tough frigates (Nebulon B, Nebulon B2 and dreadnought) with sd firepower, PA carriers, EA capitals plus sphere, IR diverse frigates and Sds, with Maldrood having an all-round roster with a slant towards VSDs.  Ground though is more difficult.  The imperial army roster simply is not as diverse as the imperial navy.

What do you think?

I freely admit I got somewhat entitled in my suggestions previously, so apologies for that Corey.
Well theme wise I want to do things like this:
GM will focus on fast and disposable-zerg tactics.
EA will be few heavy unit based, slow and powerful
WZ will be unorthodox, pirates, raptor raids, smuggler like economy
PA will be a fusion of carrier, old republic and industry focus.l

Lambda is already in.
The sub mod I'm working on will add Grunger, Pitta, Central Committee of Grand Moffs, and Drommel on their respective planets of Gargon, Mandalore, Corellia, Tralus, Kessel and Sollux respectively with their forces. All will be under the generic Warlords AI and have lore accurate forces.

The sub mod I and a couple others are working on will have some new units.
TIE shuttle, Assault Shuttle as ground air units for Maldrood and Zsinj respectively
Trandoshan Slavers for Maldrood, Kazrak slavers for Pentastar
All Seven Dark Jedi in one squad for Pentastar, Dark Side Elite in squad with Sedriss
Royal Guards for Palpatine
Flame troopers
Diverse alien infantry for NR
Juggernaut missiles
Expanded Grand Admiral bonuses that stack
Luke's Jedi Academy
Vagaari, Nuso Esva units, Ssi Ruuk for EotH only GC.

I saw it via pirate for my review. My god, they just don't get it. They think just by diversity cast without actually having said diverse cast DO ANYTHING of note or worth to the plot or focus on the development of them in regards to the story they are catering to different demographics when it seems far more offensive and pointless to inject people solely based on race or sex to check a box off instead of working them well into a story.
Oh yeah, Han now is the same as Rey, just naturally good at all he does, no effort or explanation required. His piloting skills? Not honed from years of crewing a ship, his sabacc skills, beginners luck, his pistol and his NAME are just random bestowments! Don't get me started on droid rights Fembot, the utterly pointless twist on the villain-BEING THE VILLAIN and the movie now bringing TCW revival of someone AGAIN, because why the F not!

They don't seem to get that people want developed stories, with well fleshed out and potent characters that will be enjoyable for years to come, not hey, trendy SJW joke and message here!

Discussion, Suggestions & Feedback / Re: SSD's Unplayable?
« on: May 29, 2018, 08:17:53 PM »
As the title says. I am having a huge amount of trouble using jinj and an Executor on most of the planets I travel to. They ether spin or get stuck and refuse to move or shoot stuff very close to them. If the AI YOLOs into them at the start of the battle they seem to work ok and on the defensive where you don;t have to move them they can be ok but on the offensive they seem barely usable with the other 25 points of the fleet either carrying the battle or getting chewed to bit.

I don't expect them to be sed on Vergesso asteroids but on Kuat in particular which seems reasonably wide I have a huge amount of trouble trying to get one to move in a straight line and I had on get stuck just over the middle of the map. Antemeridas is almost 100% open an I could not get one to go from A to B either, same deal on Centares and Thanos.

Zsinj has been relegated to parking in orbit over Kuat whlie the other one is having a holiday in Thanos and I am fortifying the system. 60k for a defensive emplacement seems a bit steep.

It's how you use them my friend,

Don't jump the SSD in initially, use another ship to clear fog of war first then drop the SSD in either the middle or right beside the main enemy fleet. Jump in support ships around it when the enemy focused on the SSD. The SSD can both take and give a tremendous amount of punishment allowing you to focus and pick apart the enemy. Instead of clicking a target to 'attack' click a destination slightly away from it. While not foolproof this does help with the pathfinding. Because if you click to attack something it will try and bring all weapons to bear and this confuses it since by turning half turn away so it spins or rotates.

He is in command of Whirlwind. Captain “Bolla Thoath” is a figment of his imagination,.

Again this wouldn't be a bad idea for a submod, I myself am trying to get one up and running(if RL would just stop being erratic, inconsistent and irrational for a bit, i might be successful even) I just don't feel Zero Command brings enough to the table that is different than what is already in the main mod(and again this is coming from someone who as the team can tell you nagged them about ALL the Warlords until their ears bled lol) There comes a point where you have a faction just for it's own sake, not because it really brings anything new to the table and then it's just a clone of one already in with a different picture over it. With the virtually nonexistent data on Zero Command before the Ismaren's plot in era 4 we have Harrsk mocking Isard during the Bacta War(which we get second hand) and an offhand reference to the Deep Core Warlords with his name dropped but no context until Shadow Hand. We know he used very standard Imperial gear and vessels-he mass produced ISDs, couldn't crew the two Dreadnoughts he had(which he apparently inherited after Shadow Hand somehow) and had a TIE Shuttle for his personal transport. He used Stormtroopers and didn't ever really do anything outside his own turf much save for a brief expansion.
While the PA didn't do much until just before Shadow Hand we have a wealth of data and sources on them and people associated with them that make them much easier to flesh out as a faction, same with the GM and EA, we have names, dates, campaigns and ships that are fairly robust until era 4(ironically the opposite of ZC, which starts with 1 to 2 heroes tops and only gets more with stretches in era 4)
Again you could do your ideas in a submod, like I am trying to as well, but I just don't see enough justification to fill a faction slot with another Empire clone with less unique and new units than almost anyone else when that slot could go to factions like the Ssi Ruuk is all I'm saying. The team is already straining the game's capabilities quite a bit.
I admire your passion for Zero Command, and trust me when I say I would like them in a Deep Core campaign solely involving the big 3 of the Deep Core Warlords duking it out-but again that is more of a submod than main mod thing.

I'm with Dave on this. I'm not giving money to a that effectively told fans to piss off and deal with it while producing subpar cash grabs.
I'll review the bootleg version so I can judge the films flaws and merits-which if it follows the pattern will be decent special effects, visuals and acting but pointless and disjointed plot with very poor story or world building.

34
This is fantastic. Xizer, you exceed all expectations once again.

But now as to the faction itself, I was looking at the ships stats and they definitely are generally underpowered. Their Shree has fewer Turbolasers than the MC80 Liberty, and that we supposed to be their flagship battlecruiser.

Thanks, it's nice to use this warped mind of mine for amusing if not entirely productive things lol

As to the Ssi Ruuk, they strike me as VERY heavily carrier based and swarm based. Cheap, fast and disposable...lots of Japanese Zeros come to mind. Their ships should be about lowering enemy shields but not damaging them, their main line ships should only enter the fight in great number or after their swarms have done the work for them. Same on ground, heavy droid reliance with a few elite Ssi Ruuk infantry that are very powerful.

Am I too young to understand what this is?

If you don't remember An Adventure 65 Million Years in the Making then you are, but with the magic of internet and DVD you can experience it.

Go watch Jurassic Park...NOW

Oh I like that. Make Entenchment Facilities (or maybe Entenchment Temples?) like a combination Tax Agency/Prison building. They give you credits on whatever planet they’re built on, but if they’re on a planet with a native population they provide more credits, Fleet supply, and a larger garrison force on the ground.

That could be frighteningly effective.

39
They could be interesting as a snowballing faction. Starting small but with entechment being able to mass drone fighters and droids quickly and eliminating civilian population with entechment facilities.

40
I am still planning on putting together a faction profile but I am too busy at the moment.

There is nothing in Legends that contradicts and much that directly, or indirectly support such an alliance.  Zero Command is the only one mentioned by name. I would argue that since Zero Command was only mentioned by name it probably was the most prominent and the other warlords mentioned are just small fry like Moff Foga Brill or nonentities like Grand Moff Gann.

If you want to argue that Hethrir was working with Greater Maldrood or Delvardus then provide evidence for it.

Hethrir forged an alliance with Harrsk and then Harrsk died. That does not contradict that fact that there was an alliance.

Let's take the logic you use here and apply it to the Pentastar Alignment of Powers.

The PA was formed in 4 ABY.

Jerec was part of the PA and died 5 ABY.

Grand Moff Kaine died 11 ABY and the PA was annexed by the Imperial Remnant in 12 ABY.

Jerec was only a member of the PA for about a single year, possibly less before he died. Under your logic, since Jerec and his dark Jedi died years before Kaine and the end of the PA, they should not be included as heroes for the PA.

That Harrsk was only briefly associated with Hethrir I am not disputing. I am only asserting that he was briefly but definitely associated with Hethrir. Much in the same was that Jerec was only briefly but definitely associated with the PA.

In my original post I already stated "No mention has been made of Tavion's cult being associated with Hethrir after Desann's defeat but the forces at her disposal lead me to suspect she had the backing of Hethrir- that massive fortress of Taspir III seems like it would be beyond the reach of a lowly failed apprentice to a dark side adept."

I already acknowledged there is nothing that states Tavion was working directly Hethrir at the time. But the fact remains that the bulk of her dark side force users were directly recruited from Hethrir's surviving reborn.

Here's how I suspect it went down: After Desann died Tavion was given his position within the Empire Reborn by Hethrir. All of the surviving Reborn would serve under her and she would serve Hethrir. When Hethrir died she already had the loyalty of the Reborn and struck out on her own.

I also find some similarities between Tavion's scheme and Hethrir's in the Crystal Star. Keep in mind that in the Crystal Star Hethrir's plan was to make sacrifices to Warru so the alien creature would bestow even greater dark side powers to Hethrir. Tavion took the Scepter of Ragnos and drained locations of their Force energy to resurrect Marka Ragnos.

This is all speculation but it is interesting to consider that maybe Tavion's plan was actually Hethrir's.  If Warru wouldn't give Hethrir what he wanted, maybe Plan B was to resurrect Marka Ragnos and have him instruct him further in the dark side.

I find it amusing to think that Hethrir would have trusted an interdimensional vampiric slime being more than an ancient Sith Lord.

In game terms, I think it might be fun if Hethrir's faction were to capture Korriban they could recruit Marka Ragnos as a hero. Like how Greater Maldrood can recruit Moff Getelles and Admiral Larm upon capturing Antemeridian sector

Wow there simmer down a mite Manka cat, touched a nerve.

I'm saying that Hethrir wasn't actually part of Zero Command- unlike Jerec and Kaine who were part of the PA, so you kinda shot yourself in the foot with that technicality. We also know that Hethrir had ties to more than just Harrsk because it's stated both on wookie that he helped fund renegade Imperials and sought resources very indirectly from the DEEP CORE WARLORDS. This implies multiple alliances and agreements, not just with Harrsk. We know that Hethrir really only made a solid deal with Fyyar who by all accounts was part of the Imperial Remnant-after Harrsk and Zero Command were already gone- we know that Roganda Ismaren and her son Irek tried to forge and alliance with Harrsk and that they later fled to Zero Command for shelter before hiding on Coruscant with Cronus(before THAT went WAAAAY South) The point is it's a very long stretch for Hethrir to be a hero for ZC since their very tenuous connection was not exclusive by location or association, Roganda and Irek could be though-they were directly associated-not loosely and indirectly.
Also as to the Empire Reborn, they lost nearly all influence when Fyyar and Desann were killed, Hethrir was eaten by magic interdimensional blob thing shortly after and after that the tattered remnants of the Reborn were gathered up by Tavion who had backing from a very small(likely single) Imperial Commander years after both Harrsk and Hethrir had both gone the way of the Dodo. My point is that the Empire Reborn was not part of Zero Command-it was it's own entity, you can make arguments for the Antimeridian, Sy, Lott and Gendarr on proximity and communication while not having any evidence that they weren't in at least communication with the Maldrood due to the locations.

The problem with Zero Command is that in addition to being yet another Warlord faction, they wouldn't bring anything new to the table, they didn't really expand or do anything of note(even less than the PA in terms of lore until Darksaber), we have virtually no information on what they did or who was associated with them until roughly era 4(which was around the Reunification timeline) So for most of era 1, 2 and 3 we have a hero roster that is basically Harrsk. In era 4 you get Harrsk, Daala, Irek, Roganda and maybe Kratas, but then you have a timer til Daala kills Harrsk and you become the IR. You could introduce the remnants of Grand Admiral Batch's command that murdered him and defected to Harrsk but we have no names and they didn't have any remnants of the TIE Phantoms- so that's just maybe some Star Destroyers. Maybe add in Grand Admiral Batch for Zero Command- but he was murdered by his crew who went to join Harrsk-so he probably wasn't keen on the idea. You could stretch things and add in the Empire Reborn but that is still era 4 and gives you 2 Dark Jedi heroes and nothing really new to the game-save maybe the Planetoids Hethrir owned and Shadow troopers(basically weaker generic dark jedi) which again doesn't fix the first 3 eras of it just being Harrsk(and part of era 1 no Harrsk since he's tied to the Empire early on) Tavion was never associated with Zero Command as by the time Desann was making his bid Harrsk was already gassed, so the Disciples of Ragnos would be a split off from the Imperial Remnant, rather than Zero Command.

Look I feel ya on this man, I am extremely passionate about the Warlords and have argued for more of them included but most of them like Zero Command either burned out fast or there is just nothing on what they did. Zero Command works as a splinter faction of the Warlords AI but would be exceedingly difficult to implement as a Player faction for the sheer fact there's just nothing there until era 4 at which point they have about 3/4 of a year until Tsoss beacon- reunification event.

you'd basically have this as a possible era 1 hero roster
Harrsk in Shockwave
Maybe Grand Admiral Martio Batch in ISD Meniscus(stretching)
(era 2,3 same)
Era 4( Irek, Roganda(Dark Jedi), Drost Elegrin(Economy), Garonnin(Economy) Nasdra Magrody(Tech, build speed bonus) Hethrir, Desann, tavion(Dark Jedi stretch) Daala(gorgon) and Kratas(Shockwave?) Harrsk(Whirlwind)
Era 5 Tavion?

That's the trouble.
