I'm assuming he means Nexus: The Jupiter Incident

It's a pretty good game, though it is much more tactical than strategic. Still might be interesting if you have the models already

I take it you aren't a fan of what Del Rey has done? Or are you just a Zahn purist?

I loved most of NJO, so slightly disappointed with the Legacy of the Force series. I have Fate of the Jedi: Outcast in my hands... hoping Allston can return and add some humor back into the recent drama-heavy arcs. Christie Golden's Starcraft: Dark Templar series gives me hope she'll write a good SW novel, but we'll see.

This is pretty cool
http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_overtake.php?s=&t=96904

In another month, we can overtake most groups and get to the top 2000.
A year, probably into the top 1000 teams. Of course, the top teams have lots of producers, but even around the 500s, there are many teams we can overtake with sufficient time. It means, on our current trend, we are producing more than they are per day.

Now Nvidia users can add their video cards to the Folding@home project. We know you're not spending all that time playing games with your video card. Use its processing power for a worthy cause.

Nvidia Folding@home beta client

Requirements: A Nvidia 8000/9000 series card (all those support Cuda which this client uses).
Reports of 8800 GTs that can go up to 4000 PPD (points-per-day), that beats the pants out of all other clients.

------

I guess this my update for June. Our team score right now is 188203 with 176 WU.
Our team ranking is 4303 of 126821. (Up another 2000!)

If you add your Nvidia card, we can reach our current point value in only 47 days! Another month and a half to double what we've contributed so far. Multiple people contribute, we can easily reduce that by multiple factors. Let's see how far our team can rank up.

Isn't this old news? Or a new revelation for you? :)

Carrie Fisher (ala Leia) actually gives Chewbacca the Lifetime Achievement Award at the MTV Movie Awards.

And then America has that nice interceptor missile shield, which could just as easily defend against Russia as the so-called "rogue states" they claim its meant to protect against.

Let's face it, if Russia really wanted to launch their missiles, they would launch a lot of them. Our missile shield could never intercept all of them. In case one accidentally got launched (by Russia or a rogue state), we would have something to cover people.

Really, Russia is going to make a big uproar about it. But they aren't going to fight over the issue too much. They just don't want us in their backyard, but as long as the UN still has some recognition there, few things are going to change. It's the same status quo... you have to realize that Serbia hasn't had control of the Kosovo for years. The chances are they will never gain it back.

You can do something nice for the holiday. And its free too.. no money required.

Donate your idle computer cycles to science. Stanford's Folding@Home project uses your computer to help simulate protein folding.

You can install it no matter what operating system (Windows / Linux / even PS3...). Just install a client and let it go.

If you've tried some hard drives and still get problems, it could be your actual hard drive controller (on your motherboard). I've had some unstable motherboards that would corrupt my hard drives. I just ended up returning the motherboard.

Travian seems to be one of those browser-based RPG games. I could see it working as long as you're not making money. Otherwise I'd expect LucasArts to shut you down pretty fast.

I stick to the more fan-based ones with more simulation and board roleplaying - ala www.swcic.net .
I avoid games like Runescape :)

Sure, I think the story of the Vong isn't over. They do need to resolve the many issues relating to their culture along with Zonama Sekot.

Big fan of NJO :)

I figure the Boba Fett plotline is left for some reason, probably for the restored Mandalorians to take down the Jacen, the new Sith Lord. Whether the Skywalker/Solo clan wants, I figure the Alliance is going down yet again. Then we'll see a rise of the Sith again as shown in the Legacy comics.

39
I doubt this would happen, as it really is up to LucasArts whether a game is commissioned. I think they're all full with The Force Unleashed and not inclined to focus on PC content for Star Wars.

But hey, good luck on the petition

Star Wars Discussion / Re: Will Jacan go to the Darkside?
« on: May 10, 2007, 12:41:32 AM »
He is going to the Dark Side.. already manipulating things with (or being manipulated by) Lumiya.

All this is happening with the Legacy of the Force novels. He's already going to the Sith and will have a Sith name.
I have a feeling that Luke will bring Jacen back though.. or die trying.

The Legacy of the Force comics is almost entirely new. There (so far as I know) hasn't been any direct connections established between the current characters and the new ones - Darth Krayt, Cade Skywalker, etc (ala their family tree relationships)
