Star Wars Discussion / Re: Disney buys Lucasfilm

Well I would love to see Liam Neeson as Thrawn

I am more worried about how Harrison Ford and the rest of the original saga stars would play their roles again, when they are in their late 60s and 70s.

Comon It cant be that bad of a news. Which one of you never wanted to see the expanded universe in big screen. True most likely they will add their own twist to it but don't forget Lucas has had done enough harm to the star wars saga by saying he doesn't see any of the expanded universe books as canon.

Plus so far they did a pretty good job with marvel.

The Walt Disney Company Acquires LucasFilm; Star Wars: Episode VII Set for 2015#

From this article

http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/10/30/the-walt-disney-company-acquires-lucasfilm-star-wars-episode-vii-set-for-2015

Disney announces in an investor conference call after today's announcement that they intend to make more than one new Star Wars movie, beginning with Episode VII in 2015 followed by Episodes VIII and IX "every other year" and then "we'll go from there."

I cant believe it, I am really happy and hopping that the new episodes to be better than of the prequels since Lucas now has no affect on the star wars universe at all.

Also this means we could see Thrawn in the big screen.

So what do you guys think? Do you think that Disney would do a good job with star wars saga (like marvel and avengers)? Or not?

Ascendancy Discussion / Re: Questions

It's important to remember this is a total conversion, not just a reskinning. So saying "how are you doing pirates" or "how are you doing loyalists vs rebels" really aren't the right questions. We're using the tools the game gives us to make Star Wars.

That is pretty amazing  :). Since I know pretty much nothing about modding I thought that you had to stick with the games rules but seeing you don't have to I would love to have a real start wars game on sins engine with all the possibilities that comes with it.
Also will looking forward to what surprises you would add to the game like you did with the era system of ICW.

This is incorrect. Rebellion has the loyalists/rebels set up as entirely different races/players, not as a sort of sub-faction.

Actually it is correct; it is set as 2 different sub-faction for every race, which have just different titans and different technological upgrades and so on. Calling them entirely different factions would be going very far. Even in the  faction selection menu they are called the same faction. But maybe it could be modified in such a way to make them feel more different and much more unique.

Ascendancy Discussion / Questions
« on: September 16, 2012, 10:33:14 AM »
I got many many questions about the Ascendancy mod, I am sure many other people also have as well, so that why I created this topic. So here goes my first questions

Many many questions ahead. So since sins handles them better could we expect more SSD (number and type wise) or same as the ICW?

Also would you try to add heroes to sins of a solar empire?

Sins rebellion has a system of rebels and loyals as I am sure you are aware of it, so using this system you could easily make the empire in to two distinct factions as loyal as the Imperial Remnant and rebel as the Pentastar Alignment. Due to the fact that they use mainly the same ships and units and defenses. Was wondering was this really what you plan to do with it or do you have some other amazing idea for the rebel and loyal system and going to surprise us with it?

And lastly which faction will became the pirates? Would it be the hutts or warlords or some other faction?

Thanks. (sorry for many questions but the anticipations is huge after playing ICW)

Since sins of a solar empire allows for better path-finding for star dreadnought would you consider of adding maybe more and different SSD for the empire (remnant, aliment, warlords so on ...) factions and possibly similar dreadnought sized ships for the other factions? Also would you add heroes for the factions?

Discussion, Suggestions & Feedback / Just thanks

Thank you for one of the most awesome mod that I have ever played. I am not just speaking about the star wars mods but it is by far one of the most amazing mods I have played to the date. Take your time with sins of the solar empire mod, we will be busy playing ICW.

That is not really unfortunate (at least from my point of view) always wanted to SSD vs SSD  :) . Besides nice to hear that they got Jerec. One more question, I don?t know the star wars time line that good but would the PA also get Doomgiver?

After reading about Pentastar Alignment in wookipedia to learn about them I saw their leader Grand Moff Ardus Kaine uses an Executor-class Star Dreadnought called the Reaper. Would that unit appear in the Pentastar Alignment as a hero unit? Sorry for too many questions but since I got more free time I got more and more interested in the mod.

Corey thanks for the answers. I can see why the empire of the hand won’t get any super capital ships, although my own personal view was that at the moment they feel they could use one more maybe slightly bigger capital ship (not a ssd after learning their M.O) possibly in the last era (when Thrawn is not in power). That being said if you don’t add any I won’t complain, I am not a huge fan of mods which just add too many super capitals that you get confused and it makes some ships (sometimes even normal capital ships) to became completely redundant. If I want to use many super capital ships I could always use Imperial Remnant.

I must say I am looking forward to The Pentastar Alignment, in next version and looking forward to see what you do with them in the future.

Also with the minor factions I don’t know if this even possible to in the empire at war engine but is it possible for your faction to maybe bribe or conquer them to maybe build some of their arsenal or maybe call for them to help you out in battles. They could be sort of ally to your faction. This is just a small idea, like I said I don’t know if it is possible to do or if you like it.

One last thing I know many people will agree with me that the 29th can’t come soon enough.

It seems that my question in the moddb site was completely ignored so let me try my luck here.

I have been following this mod for years, and must say I had lost hope in it few years back when it was stated in moddb that you won?t continue on the mod and leave it at one release. Nevertheless you did continue on making/supporting the mod which really made my day, I was very happy to see it get more updates. Since it does have some very very nice ideas not seen in any other mod. That being said I had few questions. Would empire of the hand get some sort of super capital ship in the future? Also would you expand the units for other factions (playable and non-playable ones) in the future versions or would you say some or all of them are pretty much done. If you do which factions would you say are pretty much done?

Thanks
