I seem to be winning practically every battle in the biggest GC as the republic, with only 1 battle over Ylesia where it was cutting it close. The Eriadu Authority was a cake walk and the Empire has been getting curb stomped on every side. I just took Corellia, Kampe, Kalist VI and so forth, making my way to a Pentastar Coruscant and Kuat. The Empire only has a handful of systems left, while the PA and the Maldrood seem stagnant: Zsinj's empire fell earlier, holding onto like 3 or 4 isolated systems, no clue as to whats going on there.

Every planet I've attacked, once again save for Ylesia, seems to be desolate, with a max fleet of maybe 3 star destroyers there, usually there isn't anything guarding the planet at all, maybe a couple corvettes? I easily curb stomp whatever is in the way with my fleet of 5 or 6 home ones, a couple star destroyers, around 10 MC80s, and the list goes on. I then have the planets where any fleet can come into my territory guarded with a few capital ships as well, so nothing can get in.. except nothing ever tries to. I killed the Lusankya easily in one battle after finding it by itself over one of my systems after it destroyed the lone light shipyard that was above it. Did the same with Thrawn when he was by himself over Kampe, killed Brandei when he was with 1 other star destroyer, etc. etc. When the Empire rarely attacked me, it was Dorja in a single star destroyer attacking Iphign over and over, he'd destroy the shipyard then leave. I've breached the core in my campaign, now bordering the Pentastar Alignment for a while, been bordering the Maldrood for a long time as well, and nothing...

I'm assuming they're all killing eachother and that's why I'm able to annihilate everything I run into? I saw Coruscant changing hands over and over for a while til' the Alignment finally took it, but I'm just surprised that on Admiral NO ONE has anything to fight me with anymore.

As for my 'cheaty' tactic, I'm wondering if it's too op: I usually send a single corvette in to scout the map, discover everything on it, then I jump in all my home ones and star destroyers right onto their fleet or behind it if theres room. Once that happens the imperials get overwhelmed in a matter of a couple minutes, and the battle ends in a complete and total victory, 0 losses on my part. The only real reason I had issues at Ylesia was because i started my game without placing a ship to hyperspace into battle before the others, so everything just jumped in at once.

Anyway, info or advice or whatever would be appreciated! - Also, I set the space pop cap to 120 for every faction if that would cause any serious issues

Star Wars Discussion / Mas Amedda and other Imperial big guys?
« on: March 19, 2018, 01:10:58 AM »
Where did Mas Amedda and a lot of the other significant advisors go once the Emperor croaked? We got Sate Pestage of course but wouldn't of Mas Amedda been involved as well, along with other friends of the empire? Just curious.

I know what/how Hyperspace travel is/works, you get a ship with a hyperdrive and a navicomputer, you calculate your coordinates and boom everything turns into blue and white pretty lines. My question is on the specifics of how fast hyperspace travel is and how long it takes to travel in the sense of averages, and if it's been actually put down to numbers yet.

I'm assuming that they leave hyperspace travel to pure fantasy, as trips can take seconds to days it seems, Yavin IV to Scarif was nothing, but Hoth to Dagobah looked like it took a bit, etc. Let's not bother with Parsecs cause that's a unit of distance. But yeah, has there been much science put behind it at all? Curious is all.

So guys, I got some questions I'd like answers for if you're all willing. Bash and smash me if you find the questions annoying or anything, I just need to know this stuff to satisfy my curiosity, so here I go. And thanks in advance for reading them / dealing with my stuff.

Are turrets eventually going to be rotating on most ships? When I saw the guns rotate on the Imperial Escort Carrier for the first time I was in absolute awe.

Will AT-STs at some point gain access to their concussion grenade launchers or anti-vehicle rockets to make them more into a multi-purpose vehicle?

Do you think Nebulon B frigates should receive a price drop / buff to reduce their uselessness? I feel as though as they're absolute garbage despite them being used in the EU so much, and since they're such a staple of early rebel/imperial fleets, you'd think they'd be a bit better... maybe???

What do you guys think of heroes respawning for the NR at least / story ways of killing certain heroes? I always found it kind of anti-climactic killing Han Solo and Chewie in the falcon or Luke Skywalker permanently in silly situations when they've survived and done so much. It doesn't feel as bad killing Ardus Kaine or Thrawn as the NR of course, but perhaps make it a special faction trait of the NR for heroes not to die but instead have long respawn times?

Furthermore what would you guys think of other heroes having to be killed in special ways with story events? Kyle Katarn and Jerec/Sariss for example, seeing the events of Dark Forces 2 occur in game would be cool if eventually possible to implement.

Would it be somehow possible to have it where you didn't have to autoresolve in fights against ai in multiplayer GC's. My idea specifically being that the AI faction units would be somehow transferred over to the other player temporarily, and depending on the outcome go back to the ai? I.e if player 1 is NR and attacks the ai controlled PA, player 2 would be given control of the planet/forces there before the battle starts, and then the forces are returned right after the battle is over. In another case, if the AI PA attacks the Player 1 NR, Player 2 is given control of the forces, takes the system, and then the system and whatever forces are returned to the AI. If it's not possible I can completely understand, but would this work as some sort of workaround for the issue of multiple factions in game?

That's about it for now I believe, can't think of anything else at the moment, other than that I've noticed a lot of ships using the same lines and that I'm more than willing to do some voice acting if spots are available. I'd love to help with this mod in anyway possible, and since I'm no artist on the computer, I'd at least like to lend my voice. Anyway, thanks for reading!

Discussion, Suggestions & Feedback / Soundtrack Update for 2.2?
« on: February 12, 2017, 11:30:44 PM »
Hey guys, just curious if there's going to be an update for the soundtrack of the mod using assets from Ascendancy and perhaps other star wars tunes? Just curious  ;D

On a side note I lost my email about voice acting, if one of you guys could shoot me an email for it at Beznerds@gmail.com please let me know, I'd love to see if I can't do some rebel lines or something!

Discussion, Suggestions & Feedback / Taking a shot at voice acting:
« on: November 07, 2016, 05:20:56 AM »
Finally got all my equipment set up to voice act, if there's open positions available, send me some lines and I'd love to read them over! Thanks!

So in recent times, especially with the buildup of Imperial Civil War 2.2 update and the three new Warlord led factions, there seems to be a certain dilemma with the number of heroes for each of these factions. I'm not sure what you guys think, but last night while playing Star Wars Battlefront on my Xbox One, I may have thought of something interesting to add to the game to help fill slots (or at least something else interesting to add with the upcoming and very good looking ground based sub-mod) for the otherwise lacking lists of heroes for the game. First however, let's take a few steps back to the year of 1980, when a film called The Empire Strikes Back hit theaters across the world for the very first time, bringing joy and excitement to millions of people, with stories about Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, the Princess and the Scoundrel, and of course these guys.

I believe this sort of scum, according to Piett, could very well fill in some spots for the current lack of heroes, with depending on how they could be implemented, one for each faction of the leftovers of the Galactic Empire, with Bossk going with the Greater Maldrood, or Dengar working for the Eriadu Authority on a Mercenary job, while Fett would work for the main remnant of course. Though they wouldn't canonically fit working with these factions, it's entirely possible that with the criminal undertones of some of the aforementioned groups *cough Maldrood cough* Bounty Hunters, such as these, could possibly work and fight in the wars that followed Endor. These men need to keep paying their bills, and for mercenaries like them, war can be extremely profitable...

What do you guys think overall? Hire yourself a bounty hunter for ground battles and as an elite fighter capable of going toe-to-toe with ships like the Millennium Falcon, as well as being stealth capable, and there's plenty of stuff to work with seeing as these guys have had some recent spotlight.

Star Wars Discussion / Thrawns Revenge and Stellaris
« on: March 18, 2016, 09:15:18 PM »
Hey guys, curious about what your thoughts would be for a Thrawns Revenge mod for Stellaris, it isn't out yet but long story short it's supposed to be like Europa Universalis 4 / Crusader Kings 2 in space, and with those games comes easy mods and that sort of fun, and I believe it could accurately represent the political issues going on in Star Wars after the death of the Emperor. My only concern being that depending on how it's set up, the major factions could easily dominate smaller factions, otherwise it sounds like a great idea to work on.

What do you think?

So this came out today, what do you guys think of the new direction Rebels is going now, I can see they're adding new ships from the old canon, like that nice rebel carrier that we have in ICW & Ascendancy, forget what it's called though, but what are those hammerhead ships? Those aren't ones from the OLD old Republic, they'd be way too outdated, so what are they?

As for everything else, you got Mandalorians (obv Sabine related) Darth Maul showing up, weird Jedi & Sith stuff with a large amount of Jedi Temple Guards being around all of a sudden, Anakin and Ashoka moments, A crossguard saber (they can never leave anything on it's own can they?) Ugly Anakin & Yoda, and Geonosis.

Overall looks pretty cool, the designs of some things are still iffy for me, like the AT-AT and total lack of AT-STs, the TIE Fighter design is looking worse and worse compared to everything else now, and of course PLENTY of Inquisitors being thrown around left and right. Looks like there will be some progress though, who knows what will happen next? What do you guys think? Can anyone bring some clarity to this?

And please don't turn this into a "old canon is better than new and vice versa thread" They both have their strong points let's just leave it at that. I'm thinking of rewatching the series with my Dad then to catch up for this stuff, he's all for the new canon for some reason so might as well do it with him.

I forget what's included within the update that should be coming out soon, but I'm just curious on whether the smaller thing in ICW will be covered either within or in the next update. Some of these things include the original X-wing and TIE-Fighter models still being used, y'know with the weird fading in and out thing going on so that they're always semi-transparent, while other ships such as TIE-Interceptors and of course the Chiss Clawcraft are perfectly fine (and I'd say extremely good looking) (and I already know the Venators getting covered, beautiful model.) Other things to note include swivel turrets that are on the Escort Carrier perhaps being used on other ships such as the Corellian Corvette with her turrets or even the larger craft like the ISD's turbolasers. This could also be applied in Ascendancy if it hasn't been already.

Also any more work on refining ground units or thoughts of? I know ground isn't really a liked thing nor is it on the plans but, I'm just curious.

Anyway thanks for the awesome work so far guys!

Discussion, Suggestions & Feedback / Small things to note
« on: December 24, 2015, 04:04:10 AM »
With the new update coming out soon, are you guys planning on making turrets on various small ships (such as the good ol' fasioned Corellian Corvette) move around like they do on the Escort Carrier of the PA? Also, I just thought this would be a cool idea with TFA being out and all - making the Finalizer as a hero ship for one of the Imperial factions because hey, why the hell not? Equivalent to like a Praetor or in between a ISDII and a Praetor, making the model would be kind of hard I can imagine but otherwise...?

Just a few thoughts :D

Star Wars Discussion / The good the bad and the ugly of the new canon:
« on: September 17, 2015, 05:02:50 PM »
Here we go, a huge topic. I'm just going to start with this video here and how Dave Filoni is really ruining my love for star wars.

Yeah it's cool that the clones are in the new show, but first off, the whole thing with the chips in their brains that makes them follow orders makes no sense. They were bred to take orders, so why do they need chips? Continuing on with this, in the video Filoni states how clonetrooper gear was amazing, while Imperial training and equipment is awful (how????) I just don't understand that at all. Apparently clone troopers are infinitely better than their Imperial Stormtrooper counterparts, in equipment, in training, in everything, despite being the ELITE troops of the Empire. This is the stuff I'm trying to ignore but it really kills it.

I saw another clip of the ATTE the clones are in, managing to take out I don't even know how many ATATs by itself. WTF?

Star Wars Discussion / Star Wars: Uprising
« on: September 13, 2015, 02:31:06 PM »
Hey guys so I've been playing around with it for a bit, it seems pretty fun for a mobile game - a lot better than commander. Anyone interested in playing or adding me on it or whatever? What are you thoughts on the game? Should we start our own TR clan?

Imperial Civil War Tech Support / How to make custom hero units?
« on: July 30, 2015, 10:43:14 PM »
Just curious on how I could make a custom space unit that would be a hero, perhaps say a modified imps star deuce or a praetor or something? How could I achieve such a goal?

Also and this is completely unrelated, but with named ships such as star destroyers and executors and what not, can you add more ships to have names, such as Dreadnaughts or Victory star Destroyers, etc.

15
So yeah, are more of these completely unnecessary but cool looking things going to be added to the game or what? I don't really care either way but it would be pretty cool to have.

16
Okay so yeah what are the differences between the AI difficulties? Just curious as I usually play on Admiral but since I started playing again the AI has been pretty peculiar. Basically the IR has been suicide Bombing Ithor with fleets pretty much only made up of SSDs. This one pictured was the third in the row, after I had to fight a fleet with 30 carracks, 20 escort carriers and 2 SSDS, then Isaard and 2 SSDS, now this. My game crashed mid fight when I tried to save, whats going on folks? :(

Tried attaching a photo but sadly the forum gods have said no. It was just a picture of another Hero SSD suicide spam at Ithor with 3 ssds Thrawn and his 2 captians and I think a single escort carrier.

Star Wars Discussion / Next Star Wars game after Battlefront?
« on: July 30, 2015, 02:42:31 AM »
What would you guys want for a Star Wars game after Battlefront huh?

18
Yeah Just curious if more music will be added to factions in 2.2, as though I love the tracks in game, the Vanilla EAWFOC tracks that come in tend to be rather dull, so will more music that belongs to John be inserted into this wonderful mod?

Also on a side note, are Voice actors still needed for things? I'd be willing, just need to buy a new mic, and do you guys edit the recordings to make them sound different?

Discussion, Suggestions & Feedback / Pentastar units repainted 2.2?
« on: July 29, 2015, 02:17:14 PM »
Hey Im just curious about this but will the remaining pentastar units that dont have reskins be reskinned in 2.2, such as the LAAT and remodeling of the Venator? Just curious.

20
Hi folks, just downloaded Republic at War and I'm going to attempt to start seriously playing it now. I've played plenty of ICW and have gotten extremely used to how it works. What are some of the ups and downs between the two? How are they different other than the more than obvious Era differences, etc. including popularity and what not.

I noticed that they have made it so you can have more platoons of units on planets past 10, which has been a problem for ICW for a while now I think? Don't really know, but yeah, let's get a discussion started here folks, shall we?
