I've had a handful of problems with Survival mode.. Be nice to see how it runs in 2.2. Took me awhile to even figure out HOW to play survival mode.
But I really love the GC where you start with 1 planet and work outward. Def one of my favorite game modes! :D

Old thread, I know... But it absolutely blows me away how many amazing changes the mod team has made to the game.
Crazy impressive!!

The Lounge / Re: How Do We Feel about J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Reboot?
« on: March 03, 2018, 10:17:46 PM »
Discovery started in a strange way... and I know that as of about Ep 5 or 6, the show was taken over by people with a better understanding of classic trek, and have tried taking it in more interesting directions.
Personally, I REALLY don't like the idea of the "Spore Drive", which allows for instantaneous jumps between points in space, and between universes as well!!
The change in Klingons originally had really pissed me off! But, I started to think about when TNG was being created, that there were protests and people RAGING over the changes being made to the series.
Now-a-days, we think of TNG as defacto CLASSIC TREK, so... who knows what the future holds.

Oh... and the ACTUAL threads question, JJ's reboot..
I thought it was pretty good... but what bothered me so much about it, was that JJ seemed to be so determined to make Star Trek MUCH MORE like Star Wars. Now... I loves me some Star Wars. I do. But I love Star Trek a little bit more.. and seeing him change warp drive to behave much much more like SW hyperspace travel. The sounds, the mid-ftl visual effects, the weapons..
Hell... he BASICALLY made the first reboot Star Trek movie an exact copy of "Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back"..
It doesn't take a degree in cinematography to see that it was damn near a scene for scene rehashing of SW:ESB.

At the least, it did seem to follow (to some degree) the moral and philosophical ideals and concepts that is at the core of Star Trek itself.
Quite frankly... I think I'd be interested in seeing this "Reboot/Alternate Timeline" universe venture into the TNG era!

Discussion, Suggestions & Feedback / Tector VS ISD1 or ISD2?
« on: March 03, 2018, 10:07:05 PM »
Forgive me if this has already been answered, or this information is available on this board already..
But, I did search for it, and was unable to find the info on it.

The in-game Tector, and it's Hard points differ to some degree from ISD1's and/or ISD2's.
My question is, in what way do they differ? Do they have separate in-game models?

I'm unfamiliar with the differences between ISD1's and ISD2's to begin with, and Tector's only makes it more complex! :P

Once again, I'm sorry if this is not the right board to ask this, or if I'm rehashing a previously asked question!! Thanks!

He's also a clone at one point.. I don't think he gets the same combat bonus(es)... But technically, I guess you'd have to kill him 3 times if you count the clone as well.

Well... This "This says it all..." says it all...
Don't get it twisted, PC master race for sure! :P

But, these days, doesn't EVERYONE have at least one console on addition to a computer?
It's not as simple as it was in the old days when we were kids... Back then the insane price tags on electronics, such as game consoles, more or less precluded the option of having both a console, AND computer capable of playing quality games.

And while game consoles are still pretty god damned expensive, they definitely seem to be more accessable to all age ranges/gender/culture/etc! Which gives an entire family license to both want and to play console gaming. Essentially, it's made gaming into something that even someone's grandparents will feel justified and comfortable buying.
PLUS, with the extreme, and widespread use of 'emulation' these days, anyone can buy a halfway decent PC, and use it to play any console game that they can find/have the Roms of.

In essence, my point is that the "Great debate and divide between Console & PC Gaming" isn't particularly relevant, or important anymore. With tech costs falling upon the release of each new generation of gaming engines & platforms.. Gaming in ALL of it's forms and iterations are more accessable now then they've ever been before. ;)

TLDR= Why not both?

Haha, lots of these threads around it seems. Hard to blame you though... I feel the same way about it. The TR team has made that game engine do things it was never designed, or meant to do.
Pretty amazing when you consider that it's a game engine that's over 10 years old! :P

Discussion, Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Corporations.

I was noticing in 2.2, just how many 'Corporations' have been added to TR. It's actually a really cool feature that I'm really looking forward to getting to try out! :D
Should be pretty amazing in FotR as well, considering that it's the same Dev/modding team! The new Venator, and Lucrehulk models look pretty amazing!

One of my favorite quotes;

"However selfish soever man may be supposed, there are evidently some principles in his nature which interest him in the fortune of others, and render their happiness necessary to him. Though he derives nothing from it, except the pleasure of seeing it."

Yes. ABSOLUTELY Thank you to the DEV team!!
I've said time and time again that the things they manage to get a decade old game engine to do is nothing short of amazing. All of your hard work has given me 100's of hours of entertainment! :D
So yes... AGAIN, Thank you very much for all of your hard work.
