As much as I try to come up with a more original favorite capital ship, I always come back to the ISDII. It's practical, powerful, and beutiful all in one, and it's so multipurpose. It's like the multi tool of ships.

It's always nice to see underutilized Expanded Universe ships in this game, especially when they're Rebel.

Well to be fair people don't do a perfect sync on hyperspace jumps either in Star Wars.

If I'm not mistaken I remember hearing about an ISD that slammed into the Executor's shields after a hyperspace jump and was destroyed, so pefectly syncing is probably the least of their worries.

Lucrehulks never had a Tie launched from one in canon universe.

Well the Empire did use some as flight schools.

Well that answered all my questions, lol. Sorry that I came off sounding like I was suggesting different IR factions, the way that Sins game set up normally works is what I had in mind, I guess I've played to much ICW and pictured preset scenarios and factions. Didn't mean for you to have to write so much  :(

Well an idea I had was that with the normal Empire you have it split into a myriad of factions like it was and each faction is at war with each other as well as the NR, but as an Imperial player you have the choice of choosing what Imperial faction/warlord you want to play and you have the option for diplomacy with the other warlords. In my mind it would work like Shogun Total War, in that you have some factions that are strong and some that are weak all going for the same goal and being able to use war and diplomacy. Also this way you could make the NR much smaller than the Empire, yet with the huge split they would have a fighting chance.

The more I look at it the more I like that idea, the scimitar seems to bring very little to the table besides extreme crew safety, and it seems the Star Wing can hold more missiles, it looks like the TIE/sa is gonna be the Empires equivulance to the B52, lol

As scouts go I would us the TIE Vanguard as a non-hyperspace scout and the Lone Scout-A as the main hyperspace scout, with the Skiprays scouting as well.

The only thing that keeps me from choosing the Avenger is the price; also I would have Skiprays as well.

As bombers go I would have both the TIE/sa bomber and Scimitar, the reason is that the Scimitar lacks (as far as I can tell) a bomb scute for proton bombs and the sort, and the TIE/sa would have shields of course.

If you guys were building and arming your own fleet, be it Imperial, Rebel, EoTH, what have you, what ships would you want in it and why? And this can be anything from Capital ships and fighters to shuttles and freighters.

I'll start with the starfighter forces for myself.

TIE Interceptor would be my space superiority fighter, but I would equip them with shields like Thrawn did, and when the mission called for it they would have hyperdrives installed. I choose the TIE/In because its cheap and easy to produce and its reactor produces enough power to use extra systems.

My multi-purpose fighter would be the Alpha-class Xg1 Star Wing. I like them because there tough and rugged and can have a variety of payloads, as well as shields and hyperdrives.

Yeah the Avenger is a nice ship, I like it better than the Defender. And how to arm our fleets would be a good topic, I think I'll make it. :D

Yeah I think I might go for the Skipray Blastboat as well, good ship, but I guess I should change up the topic a bit, instead of just having your personnel transport I guess we should go for the whole shebang; your personnel capital ship, transport, and fighter.

As for me though my capital ship would be a Gladiator-class Star Destroyer, my favorite ship is the ISD, but there is something I love about the Gladiator, I like smaller ships and its got a decent amount of fighters for its size and it has a small crew.

Transport would be the Lone Scout-A, it looks like a TIE Scout but its even better in a lot of ways, can carry 3 passengers and can be used as a freighter.

Fighter would be the Alpha-class Star Wing, an Imperial snub fighter that can take a beating a deliver one, and its not half bad at dog fights.

If there are separate Imperial factions or just a myriad of warlords, as the Imperial player do you plan on being able to conduct diplomacy with them, or would they just be in a state of constant war with you?

Not a bad ship, and I love that they expounded on it in The Essential Guide to warfare, but I think you missed where I said a ship you can fly by yourself, generally capital ships especially SSDs require large crews.

So the question is; if you lived in the Star Wars universe what would you want your personal ship to be, and why? By personal ship I mean a ship that you could fly by yourself, but that you could also bring people and cargo along, in other words a Millennium Falcon or Slave I like ship, but not a capital ship or one man starfighter.

Edit: OK lets make it more than just a transport, what would be your personnel Capital ship, Transport, and Fighter, and why?

Themistocles as a brilliant Admiral in the Alliance/New Republic who flees because of some trumped up charge Borsk Fey'lya accuses him of because he's jealous of his power, and then joins the Empire after the Galactic Civil War is over.

Personally I would love to see a Star Wars version of Napoleon Bonaparte. Him leading the Stormtroopers and beheading Palpatine would be a sight to see in my opinion haha

I would like that :D

Impressive, most impressive.

I love that sight range is increased , always annoying when that space station I was firing on would disappear in the fog of war, but no more  =D

I love how while everyone has their own favorites for their reasons no one likes Isard lol!

She's got a kind of Carmen Sandiago vibe going for her, don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.  ???

Indeed, you could say that the Rebels defeat of the Emperor's New Order was the worst thing to happen to the Galaxy.

At least for Humans and Imperials, I'm pretty sure if Palpatine and his Xenophobic cronies had had their way than all undesirable aliens would of either been enslaved or exterminated, and many of their worlds would of been destroyed by super-weapons. Now of course if Thrawn had won against the New Republic than the Yuzhan Vong would of just been owned.

2: His behavior, the clones act like absolute idiots. They rave, they come up with plans of no secrecy or seeming purpose. Compared to his original scheming patience and genius this seems starkly out of character.

Only his clones acted like idiots? I would say he acted like a pretty big idiot at Endor, if he hadn't been so worried about playing games and acting like he was a god the Empire would of won, of course I shudder to think of that.

(I can't bring myself to read it too much, the art style is mediocre, the story jumps about like a schizophrenic with epilepsy, and the dialogue is very over dramatic with little substance to the original character's personalities, which are just y opinions but when compared to say Crimson Empire, Shadows of the Empire, X-Wing series and Heir to the Empire comics the Dark Empire series just fails to impress.)

But it introduced so many new ships, such pretty ships.  =D

I'm about 99.9% sure its a mod for the Sins expansion, as I'm sure everyone else is as well, but what knowledge we know about the Sins expansion may paint us a picture about the mod. First Rebellion has 6 factions, in the original there were 3 but each one has split in half because of infighting and rebellion, next Sins has complex diplomacy so you can not only go to peace and war with different factions but also use "Machiavellian strategy". Now lets look at the word Ascendancy, it means "Occupation of a position of dominant power or influence". Now where in the Star Wars timeline have we seen a time where there were many different factions that were vying for Ascendancy, they had split from each other, and they used a variety of fighting and Machiavellian strategy aka diplomacy to get to their goal?
