Hello (there!) fellow EaWX players. I recently got back into Thrawn's Revenge and have been sinking hours into the 3.4 update (also spent a bit of time in FotR too). Everything has been going great for the past few weeks and I've been trying out the different factions. I know there are still a few issues, like the Eclipse and Sovereign SSDs causing the game to crash (that happened to me) but otherwise it was generally going great...

And then my game crashed a few days ago while playing as the Imperial Remnant and now the game is unplayable. It stutters, it lags. The galactic map is slow but bearable but I can't play a battle. I tried loading other games on Steam and now get memory error messages - what the heck happened?

I am on Windows 10, PC and using a solid state drive, have 16 GB of RAM and a AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor   3.59 Ghz. I generally play on Known Galaxy, Small/Medium sized GCs. I've scanned my PC; no virus's, OS is up to date, computer just went through a defrag and everything seems fine. Did a setting somehow get reset? Any ideas?

If someone who is far more IT literate then me out there has any ideas, it'd be a huge help!

That would be kinda cool. Only issue I see is one of balancing. If the attacker only gets 4 units and a squadron of bombers are in orbit, their days are really numbered. You could just leave one squadron of bombers orbiting every planet.

Maybe if it was implemented only on certain planets or missions?

Oh, and I agree - 2.2 looks awesome!

Thanks for the help guys! Really appreciate it!

Hey guys, quick question for all of the veteran players out there. I love playing as the New Republic but find their early ships to be rather underwhelming. Nebulon-B frigates in particular seem rather useless when compared to their Imperial Remnant variants (the Carrack and the Strike Cruiser, both of which have relatively high damage output for a ship that size). I've tried using them in an anti-fighter role, but CR90's pretty much have that covered. When it comes to early scouting or capital ship screening, the CR90's and fighters have that covered too. Alliance Assault frigates are more than capable of holding off some fighters/bombers and taking out enemy corvettes. I get the feeling I'm just using both the base Nebulon-B and the Nebluon-B2 incorrectly. They seem ok for taking out Lancer corvettes or enemy carriers but that's about it (and Alliance Assault frigates are fast enough to catch both of these ships and rip them apart without any problems). Nebulon-B's seems to lose in fights to carrack's and Strike cruisers.  What am I doing wrong?

Side note, I love the design of the Nebulon-B's, not sure why. Maybe I'm just expecting too much of them!

Discussion, Suggestions & Feedback / New Republic E-Webs?
« on: February 13, 2018, 06:59:09 PM »
Random question to the devs/community? Why does the New republic not have the ability to build E-Web infantry? From my (albeit very limited) understanding, the E-Web was pretty common. Makes sense that the late Rebellion/early New Republic was able to steal a few from the Imperials. It also just seems strange that they can build star ships but not a dedicated anti-infantry weapon.

Welcome to the Boards / This Mod Brings Back that Amazing SarWars Feeling!
« on: February 12, 2018, 06:12:46 PM »
The title says it all. I played the vanilla EaW back when it was first released and nabbed the Gold Version on Steam a year or so back when it was on sale. I loved the mechanics but FoC was a general disappointment because I felt the Zann Consortium was far too powerful and I wasn't that interested in the story. Rebels/New Republic vs Empire - that's what I wanted.

I stumbled across this mod largely by accident. A friend of mine let me borrow the Heir to the Empire series a month back and I loved-every-second-of-it. While searching for more about the old expanded universe, I found this mod. I downloaded 2.1 (or is it 2.15?) and I love it, absolutely love it. I feel like a kid again (let's just say I'm in my mid/late 20s) and now can't get enough about the expanded universe. The new models, the new mechanics, the emphasis on trying to balance new/old content, and the dedication to giving it that StarWars feel are unbelievable.

Huge thanks to the mods who dedicated what can only be an immeasurable amount of time and effort to this game. Seriously, you guys should've been on the development team for FoC - this is the expansion (if something of the magnitude can be called that) that EaW should've had.

Huge thanks to the community as well - you're guys frequent posting and activity was the only reason I stumbled across this mod to begin with.

And I am SO pumped for 2.2's release!
