In version 2.1, you can't get to Kauron from Dathomir or anywhere. They said it's been fixed in 2.15 beta. I haven't been able to test it, since I don't really want to play through that campaign again.
In 2.1, I got about 75% of the galaxy conquered, then stopped since I wouldn't get a victory screen anyway without the CSA planets. (and I was tired of fighting SSD spam at that point.)
