I'll say it again don't read this if you don't want hella spoilers!
My Star Wars: The Force Awakens Review can be summed up in a single word: meh, and this is coming from a guy who actually liked the Prequels moderately well(minus Jar Jar). I'm starting to think this might be a unpopular opinion as all I see on the YouTube and Facebook Star Wars pages is nothing but people praising how it "restored their faith in the franchise". I mean there were absolutely some good parts, all the action sequences were great but the movie's plot is kinda atrociously bad. Its nothing but one cliche from the original movies after another, lots of plot holes and ridiculous Ex Machina(Rey can suddenly use force ex machina). I'm struggling to think what were the themes of this movie, what were its good one liners it didn't steal from the originals and what really was the point of it all anyhow? Also the First Order, especially General Hux and Captain Phasma, are some of the most one dimensional "bad guys" I've ever seen, they seem to only be evil because they're humorless, have no sense of morality and talk in a British accent. And don't even get me started on the "Starkiller Base", I predict we got at least another two Death Star like weapons coming each one bigger than the last, it literally is the trope from the EU about how the Empire just keeps making superweapons so the Rebels can blow it up. I got to say though Poe Dameron was my favorite character, he's got that rugged masculinity that everyone likes in Han in Episode 4-6. The final thing is the ridiculous amount of fan service and cheesy references to the originals, I swear they are the only things that make this even feel like a Star Wars movie. Well, rant over I'll just go back to my cave of disappointment and cry myself to sleep before I see the Force Awakens another couple times, maybe my opinion will change(probably not).
