got it working by saving to desktop and replacing the file, didn't effect my saved games, not like it mattered, they all had the freeze anyways...

quick question, how do you even change it? cause i can go into the file, but whenever i try to save my edit, it says something like, read only when doing it on microsoft word, or on XML notepad, "Access to the path 'C:/Program Files (x86)/LucasArts/Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption/Mods/Imperial_Civil_War/Data/XML/Remnant_Space_Units.xml is denied." or on notepad, just simply Access Denied. ive tried to adjust other stuff in the past, but i always run into this problem, its probably a really easy thing to do, probably overlooking some EXTREMELY simple...

ya, i figured as much, just thought maybe giving the added info, another "symptom", might help with a solution, its an annoying glitch. i have found keeping the AI on recruit difficultly and switching to admiral when entering battle helps, makes it last longer, i think it has to do with the AI not making so many ships and troops and then not as many dying. still detracts from the experience, but at least i can finish the campaigns, most of them anyways, before i always did admiral, although, in an update, a higher difficulty might be a cool bonus if it can be pulled off. its still the best mod ive come across, republic at war isnt bad, but it crashes alot, lags even with the patch, plus its hard to see the laser shots on space battles. you guys did a great job on this, keep it up!

ive been looking around to find out what exactly is happening to me here, the first time it occurred was in the thrawn instance, with the katana fleet, ect., cant remember the exact name. anyways, i started a battle, it was a large one, and it started normal, half way through though, something weird started happening, enemy ships jumping in would not show ANY hardpoints when i put the cursor over them, just the health bar and my ships would not target the enemy ships and my ships would only attack them if there were no other ships around, basically attacking them by default. second time was last night, playing as imperial remnant just like on the thrawn instance, playing the art of war, at it happened under the same exact circumstances, just different units, even my SSD superlaser (not sidious, cant remember the class, you can build four) anyways, after both of these battles i couldnt move ANY units, not ground, not fleets, heroes, ect ect ect... which really pisses me off, i had 3 SSDs, 4 SSD supers, dozens of praetors, hundreds of tie defenders, (damn those things are overpowered, but great on admiral difficulty, really thin out the herd), 1400 population in troops and fleets, maxed out, got to week 150 i think, somewhere around there. i think its the freeze, but i havent seen the battle and no hardpoints thing on any posts with the freeze, anyone have any ideas?

ya, right now ive been doing hunt for zsinji, they don't launch in it, but in other galactic conquests, you can get a star destroyer from conquering kuat, and that ship won't do it either. not sure whats going on with it, just something thats been irritating, i hate having ships without fighter and bomber support

whenever i have a star destroyer, class II, (not sure about class Is, never had the opportunity to use them as the new republic) and i'm playing as the new republic, they never launch fighters or bombers, making them nearly useless in my opinion... without fighter and bomber support, on admiral mode anyways, you will most likely get torn apart, because fighters are more reliable, faster, more versatile, and quite honestly last longer than corvettes used to fight enemy bombers and fighters. is this a glitch? or is this an intended side affect of star destroyers in the hands of the new republic, just confused, because interdictor star destroyers still launch, but not the imperial star destroyer class IIs
