Alright people, we need help deciding what each planet's ability should be so I'm posting this thread to get your input. Any ability for any planet in R1, you can get the planet list in the Members Only forum.

for a shipyard planet, you could do something like ships are built at twice the normal speed or something like that

Twice would be a little nuts, but a speed increase sounds like a good idea.

What about the bigger the shipyard is the faster its building but only for a lesser classes? So Frigate shipyard will built at standart speed. Heavy Frigate shipyard will built all ships from Frigate shipyard a bit faster (5%?) but new ships (those that weren't in Frigate shipyard) will be built at standart speed. ;)

wat about a planetary shipyard that can build fighter and bomber squadrons for really cheap

@ Pomerancak: You mean like the Space Bases in vanilla EAW/FoC?
@ Isamu: Fighters/bombers are still built from the Space Base in GC, so a fighter shipyard isnt needed (and wouldn't be a planetary ability in any case).

@ Slornie: what do u exactly mean "like Space Bases in vanila EAW/FOC?" I dunno if there is some speed boost in EAW/FOC.
My suggestion is simply. Each shipyard will built faster the ship which that were already available in precedent shipyard.

So capital ship shipyard builds frigates faster than just the frigate shipyard? is that what you mean?

I seem to remember something in EAW/FoC where each tech level Space Base builds the previous level ships at a faster rate. I was just checking if that was similar to what you are suggesting.
I think at the moment the shipyards are built independently of each other, and only build their own units. So, while i think you could probably add a speed bonus for each shipyard, you would need the preceding shipyard at that planet in order for the bonus to be effective.

I was thinking about 5-10% per shipyard level.
So the last tech level shipyard (Heavy capital) will built:
1) 20(30)% faster smallest ships (frigates and other scum)
2) 10(20)% faster small ships (cruiser or other bigger scum)
3) 5(10)% faster medium ships (capital etc.)
4) no built speed bonus for biggest ship
But it seems to be more suggestion for ship building system then anything other ;)
