-

-
fury is a good book. i read about a thousand pages a week.
Because I spend only one or two hours on books every night before I go to sleep, and half the time I just nod off into my personal 'dreamworld', it takes me like weeks to get a through a book of that size.
The Lord of Chaos-Book Six of the Wheel of Time
-
I propably haven't read an 1000 page book that's in English. closest would be the latest Harry Potter. that's some 800 pages if I remember correctly.

the last harry potter book is 759 i think and its by no means the longest.

-
The US version of Order of the Phoenix is the longest at 896 pages (for some reason the US versions have more pages, a larger typeface perhaps?).
-

-
apart from the fact that it is pro american anti soviet propaganda, it is quite good
lol
Anti soviet propaganda?
-
yea. anything having to do with communism in novels that was written by americans is anti-soviet propaganda. if you look at it as a foreigner (particularly from russia) you will see it.
-
Or you could look at it like a story and not be all 'conspiracy propaganda'
-

I was under the impression that for a large part of the book, the Soviet Union was winning?
-
but the context is anti-soviet
-
because if it was neutral, that'd be a pretty boring book...
-
yes. book where there is no good nor bad? pretty boring. especially if it's about cold war. there has top be a bad party.
-
Errm anyway I just started Book Six of the Wheel of Time: The Lord of Chaos. Damm! I don't devote enough time to reading......(sulks)

Well considering I finished Book 6: Lord of Chaos, and Book 7: A Crown of Swords without informing you guys, I guess I should apologize, even though I myself deem it unnecessary :)

Sounds interesting..
-
Just started. The final book of harry potter. and i am about to finish starwars crossfire
-
Finally finished the Google book at the start of this week - A pretty interesting take on the global entity, it makes me wonder how the author would interpret some of Google's more recent actions.
Since then i have read The Golden Gate by Alistair Maclean (US President gets kidnapped and he and the bridge are held to ransom). Just finished re-reading Tom Clancy's Patriot Games and have now moved onto The Hunt for Red October.
-
Tom clancy is the best. I have read
Patriot games (AMAZING)
Cardinal of the Kremilin (EXCELLENT)
Sum of all Fears (AMAZING)
Clear and Present Danger (EXCELLENT)
Debt of Honor (FRIGGIN BEAST)
Executive orders (currently reading)
If you read enough of his books, you notice that he re-uses side characters alot. Point in case, that FBI Hostage Rescue team sniper from Patriot Games (i think his name was Paulson?) shows up again in several other books in extremely minor ways. Bart Mancusco and Jonsey the sonarman from Hunt for Red October also show up again, and one of the dudes (oreza maybe? some master cheif) from that coast guard cutter in Clear and present danger show up in debt of honor on the US islands that the Japenese took over.

I'm reading the Chrystal Star right now, one of those Star Wars books I skipped by somehow. I'm liking it so far though, and it doesn't seem to suffer from unneeded word usage. http://penny-arcade.com/comic/2008/07/23

Don't bother reading FotJ, you'll just be angry. Mercy Kill has very little to do with FotJ, regardless of what they say. Mercy Kill is just some good Wraith Squadron fun.
-
Wraith Squadron is always a fun read.
-
The Three Musketeers, The Man in the Iron Mask, and the Count of Monte Cristo by Dumas. Man, that's the good stuff.

I've finished "Heir to the Empire" again today. I'm thinking about getting one of the new canon novels today, see if they're as captivating as the ones i've read so far. Thrawn was epic in any case so there's much to hope for.
