If you could have any ship in the star wars universe no matter the time period as your flagship what would it be and why?
Just a little fun idea I came up with to see what kind of ships people would use :)
-
Well to go big and unstoppable; An Assertor-Class Star Dreadnaught. Well that or an Endurance-Class Fleet Carrier.
Or a Nebula-Class Star Destroyer... aaaghh can't decide
-
Executor class SSD Night Hammer. Can take on 20 ISDs at once, has massively increased hangar space for over 1,000 TIE Fighters and Bombers. Has stealth black armor hiding it from most sensors. Requires only 100,000 crew to run instead of 250,000 normal compliment. Is one of a kind and magnificent.

Well, if we're going big and unstoppable, I'll take a completed Death Star II, thank you. ;)
-
SDSD Freudian Nightmare ::)

I'd have a short list. If I were going for the "can take on a fleet by itself" I'd go Assertor.
If I were going with a more realistically sized flagship, after doing so much testing of Ascendency, I'd probably take the Secutor. While it's not pretty, I like the fact that it's not OUTRAGEOUSLY large, it's got good shields and weapons (yes, not quite in comparison to it's size advantage, but still good), and carries lots of fighters and bombers.
Surround that with lots of Venators and Procursators to protect it well, and it'd make a fine command ship. Also, would look suspiciously like my Ascendency fleets as the PA.
If I were going with a flagship that didn't stand out at all, then I'd be going with a Venator, or MAYBE an ISD-II. But I just find the Venator is such a nicer looking ship, that I'd prefer it. Plus I like bombers (assault gunboats or blastboats).
Whatever my flagship was, it wouldn't have Tie/ln's on it. At a minimum, I-7 howlrunners for superiority, preferably Tie/Ad Avengers.

Well Pali, the DS-2 Orbital Space Station is not a ship, but a space station. :)

I honestly love the Venator class destroyer and if it could be upgraded with more modern shields, weapons, and fighters I would use it as my flagship in a heartbeat. Without the modifications I would probably choose a Majestic class cruiser. Good firepower, good shields, interesting shape, and awesome name.
-
I chose the finalizer man that ship have good weapons shields and hangar capacity its not the coolest desing around the galaxy but is efficient
-
I pick the executor why because it good ship and can wipe naval by her self in some fights. She has a great lord of fighters and bombers plus i do some upgrades make it have more shields add that are not easy to take out
-
I think i would take the Prator Mk II Battlecruiser.
I don't know why but i just love that thing ^^
-
A personally modified Venator with up-to-date basically everything. I mean if the things were still around in the Legacy Era for whatever reason, that proves their resilience to me. As a second probably a Conqueror-esque SD

With or without IG88 secretly being it's brain?
-
executor still my fav ship this video sums it up well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6zbETVOzWM&ab_channel=Spacedock

I admit, Imperials just have some of the best looking ships with the firepower to match.
Super Star Destroyers, ISD II, Praetors, ...Yeah, they kinda have it all.
Though I wouldn't mind a Providence class or a Mon Cal Cruiser.

MC-90's would be on my top 10 list, probably top 5 list.

I am goin with A Crimson Command VSD
with the red hull and massive firepower boost.
-
i agree with Lord Xizer. Night Hammer, but maybe even more powerful, if possible
-
My top 5 picks in no particular order:
Modernized Venator-Class Star Destroyer (enhanced systems, modernized reactor, exchange 32 point defense laser cannons for 18 turbolasers and 9 ion cannons) - Compliment of 192 TIE Interceptors, 192 TIE Avengers, and 36 Missile Boats/TIE Defenders
Nebula-Class Star Destroyer - Compliment of 36 E-Wings and 24 K-Wings
Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer - Compliment of 36 TIE Avengers, 24 TIE Defenders, 12 Skipray Blastboats, 12 Assault Gunboats/Missile Boats
Bellator-Class Star Dreadnought - Compliment of TIE Interceptors, TIE Avengers, TIE Defenders, and Assault Gunboats/Missile Boats
Modernized Lucrehulk-Class Battleship (enhanced systems, modernized reactor, mount tons of extra weapons) - Compliment of E-Wings, TIE Defenders, Assault Gunboats/Missile Boats, maybe a Lancer or 2

praetor all day!
-
My ship would be one of these three, for fun reasons.
Secutor Class Carrier: I'd love a larger vessel with a decent fighter compliment and a great deal of heavy weapons, it would be easily defensible if you escorted it with smaller vessels like the VSD.
Assertor Star Dreadnaught: The single sexiest ship ever made by the Empire, plus, it's guns!
Victory I Refit: I'd put the VSD II engine array on it most likely, replacing the Turbolasers with Heavy Ion Cannons and point defense arrays, the Conc. Missile launchers recieving an increase to number and fire rate.

If it had to be the time frame of the mod I'd say the eclipse because the thing is godlike if you take out plot armor for the enemy. Hit and run attacks with it where you drop out of hyperspace and fire the laser at an SSD or planet then launch droid fighters and jump out to spawn chaos is too OP. If i could choose any then it would be the ship Gar Stazi gets in the legacy comic series. The alliance I believe it was called. It was a prototype star destroyer a century ahead of the mod. It would take like one turbolaser to wipe any standard ship
