Title: nest vs. chiss
Post by: lolzlolz on August 11, 2008, 08:26:43 PM
would it be possible for you to make a release with nr chiss and the nests (killiks i think)
because that'd be really cool, if this has already been asked sorry  ;)

As much as that would be fun, I don't think that the TR staff are taking additional requests for releases.

There is absolutely 0 chance of us making a Dark Nest mod. The Killiks don't have any known ships or vehicles, and the Dark Nest trilogy sucks in every possible way.

corey, u obviously haven't read through it all the way, because basically they just have various species that are their vehicles and ships such as the dartships and the giant spider things, excuse me for not remembering what they are called.  plus with the nr and chiss done i would be easier than the previous releases because you only need to add one faction.... ;)
o well though

Yes, there are some ship names, but the Nest ships, shard ships and dartships don't have any good descriptions (Nest ships were only described as 10 km long eggs, and Shards were only described as cones between 1 and 10 km) or pictures, so we have nothing to base their stuff on. And while there were larger bugs that did function like tanks, they would be very difficult to implement. Especially when nobody on the team has any interest in it.

Killiks had plenty of infantry types but no ships of their own
And I thought dark nest was quite good

The Dark Nest Trilogy was excellent, and i agree, it would just take too much effort to implement them because every single land unit they'd have would be a melee unit.
