Will the Republic have the 501st in Fall of the Republic?
-
We're not putting in legions of troopers as heroes. Most legions were the exact same as the other ones, and even in the case of the "elite" legions, they were only slightly better. There's also the fact that we'd have to put in several squads for one hero...
We're not making any heroes out of storm, clone, or any other kind of trooper legion. They would be pointless. However, in some cases, heroes like Cody, Bly and Appo WILL come with a few storm/clone/other troopers from the Legion they commanded.
Is this answer you were looking for? :D

thanks, but its a dissapointing answer. i hoped the 501st would be in the mod. oh well, regulary clones still kick butt
-
appo will be there, though.
-
If i understand it right clone commanders will be accompanied by few soldiers (see Arbiters quotes). I think its pretty good compromise ;)
-
it would be pointless to have an entire legion as hero units. i would recommend 501st be specialty units that cost extra
-
The point is that there is nothing special about them. Every clonetrooper belonged to some legion, and we can assume that every legion had their own fancy paintjob going on, but that doesn't mean we should put every single legion that ever existed in the mod just because they had cool armour. Cody, Bly, Appo and Bacara (or whichever clone commanders we do) will all come with a few squads of troopers from the legion they commanded.
-
I think 501 legions would kill EAW.. :P
-
i agree this is a good compromise, plus the clone commanders get some from their legion so...

Still, that is a good idea...
But the ball is always in Arbiter hands.
-
So you want Arbiter to fill up the build bar with different types of clones? All using the same models but different paint on the skins?
Now let's think about how useful that would be...
-
The whole idea here is that there is nothing special about them but some shiny blue stripes.
-
I can probably guess the answer to this, but, could you make some of the legions buildable for a big price only on Kamino, that way they don't take up loads of room on all planets. They could act as minor heroes.
Only a suggestion.
-
but then kamino, the 2nd most important republic planet in the CW era would have an overflowing build bar.
-
For units with no discernible difference from their regular infantry other than the special colours.
These are all of the special kinds of Clone Troopers (armour permutations, as opposed to classes.) that will be in R3:
Plain white: Regular infantry.
Shock Troopers: Trained at Coruscant on Tech V.
501st: Comes with Commander Appo
212th: Comes with Commander Cody
Galactic Marines: Comes with Commander Bacara

Looks enought, for me ;)
-
All we were sayin' was it would be cool. But I do understand what you mean and do agree that its the best choice.
-
good solution. and I assume that those clone commanders give some bonuses to battle as well?
-
Good enough for me. I'll take it. ;)
-
I agree that the 501st kicked ass and it would be awesome if they could be buildable, but it's Arbiter's decision is a good compromise between the extremes.
-
good solution arb
