Title: Legitamate galactic government
Post by: Eldritch66X on December 14, 2018, 06:10:16 PM
For thousands of years in the EU coruscant was the galactic capital wether it be the empire or republic

I was wondering if you might add a mechanic where if you control coruscant you can build a building for each faction that makes them the legitamate galactic power
It could give a faction bonus like a 5 to 10% increase in taxes faction wide or just make it work like the other special buildings

It would kind of makes sense being as the new republic worked so hard to capture coruscant and the Imperial remnant working so hard to keep it

For the faction buildings you could of have
NR galactic senate
IR Mott council
For the warlords I’m not to sure what they would do but it would probably be them making their own more council and declaring themselves head of state

Interesting. Don't capitals fulfil that function? Maybe a slight bonus from being on Coruscant?

Nonetheless, I keep wondering if different bonuses might be applied. There are already alot of discounts, credit increases etc, why not make buildings build faster instead (better bureaucracy sorting out the paper work and allocating labour faster)? What do you think?

I did a post on governmental policies that did decreased building time and other bonuses, so I might try and update that if it interests anyone.

I wanted to find a way they could be a benefit to the factions without causeinf a snowball effect

But their are ways it could work as well faction wide decrease in recruitment cost for troops and ships or as I said before a credit boost or a it could act as a chain that unlocks a the government buildings like a
For the republic building the galactic senate on the coruscant it could unlock an option to build a senators residence or a some sort of governmental residence that adds a small garrison force ( nothing game breaking maybe some elite troops or senatorial guard) and a small credit boost for a more efficient bureaucracy.
I can’t see these buildings being put on every planet so they could be limited to 10 or 5 like the trade ports they will be key assets that will be something the enemy will want to eliminate or focus down.

As for the empire and the warlords it could governors palaces that do the same thing

They could be viewed as core sectors
