First, hello and thanks to the team for the great mod.
Something I noticed when looking up fighter stats in the manual:
E-wing:
3 laser cannons, 1 proton torpedo
Hull strength 10, Shield strength 10
X-wing:
4 laser cannons, 2 proton torpedoes
Hull strength 10, Shield strength 10
Am I missing something or is the E-wing actually worse than the X-wing?

The manual does not include all the stats. The E-Wing is better than the X-Wing for several reasons. The E-Wing is much faster, better rate of turn and its proton torpedo recharges 10 seconds faster. The X-Wing has an extra laser cannon and the shields recharge 40% faster. The maneuverability and speed advantage of the E-Wing more than makes up for shield recharge speed and extra cannon and the 40% quicker proton torpedo recharge rate makes the E-Wing much better at bombing.

I think they are fairly even excpet the E-Wing comes on more later era ships hwile the X-Wing is not quite as good but is cheaper and spawns out of various NR ships as well. Even as in the E-Wing doesn't obsolete the X-Wing in era 2 and 3 when you get both (welll X-Wings on Nebulon B's). E-Wings better but X-Wing is very good for the price, better for free.
