I really dont want to look up NJO stuff because I am focusing on the KotOR games at the moment. So I will have to defer to everyone else on this topic, and learn from them.

Yeah-I read a couple of them based on that period of time with 'Trioculus', that 'child of the Emperor' crap. They sucked arse, but I thought the book on the five bounty hunters; IG-88, Bossk, Boba Fett, and the other two I cant remember were pretty good.

I meant the NJO series, not ALL Star Wars books...

Ok ok. The ones I have read seem boring-the books just dont interest me, but then again, I prefer fantasy books such as The Wheel of TIme (I am up to Book 3, the Dragon Reborn, and nearly finished!) and the Rhapsody books, and I love David Eddings works as well.

I think the NJO series is very good. Much better than the now going LotF series.

i like the lotf series haven't read the njo though

NJO is good, sometimes the numerous authors makes things a little conflicting/weird but atleast they only killed one amazing person

I cant be bothered reading any more Star Wars books-the eleven (waiting on the twelth) Wheel of Time books by Robert Jordan keep me more than staisfied-I am only up to Book 3, and each book is about eight hundred pages, and its REALLY good. Sorry for advertising my favorite book series. ;)

800 pages? I could do that in a day.

So could I. The Wheel of TIme is perhaps the longest book series, and I mean in terms of pages, because most of the Star War's books are split into small grouups of five-six books that are about five hundred pages each. And the Wheel of Time is actually immersive, or just more so than most other book series.

yeah. LotF has killed many good characters. And some even in very stupid ways. thank god there's only one more of those books coming. I wonder who dies in there. Jacen of course but who else. but this topic is about empire vs YV. so let's put this conversationcto the topic it belongs.

My humble apologies; I love to discuss the finer elements of Star Wars; I can learn so much from these talks. Who exactly has LotF killed off? Because if.....I dont know, give me a list, and I will collaborate further....

im not going to read lotf becasue of how many main characters are dying. its rediculous. how much death can there be in the universe... didn't enough people die in the vong war. i'd rather see a new time period inserted/more work on the KOTOR period.

losing main characters is really the only downside to lotf otherwise, it is quite good.

They all need to die sometime, no-one lives forever.
However, i wish they would just set a point, and just stop there, instead of continuing on and creating more battles, and enemies and megalomaniacs. Then they could concentrate on filling in the gaps in history.

I have agreed you with the whole time. And I also agree that they should fill in the blanks in the history rather than bringing up more chaos and destrution to present. I mean that after 22 BBY when the Clone Wars began there has been almost continual war on the Galaxy. When the Empire was formed few years of peace but then conflicts began again. same at 19 ABY. Few years of peace then came the YV. after that was the Killiks. And now Jacen "the LOOSER" Solo.

and for those of you how wonder that didn't republic last longer than 1000 years, the answer is yes. republic was formed some 25.000 BBY. but the 1000 years Slornie is referring to is the result of Ruusan Reformation.
