Title: Jedi as regular units?
Post by: strike23 on March 14, 2008, 01:06:21 PM
there were enough jedi during the clone wars that they could be made regular units. they would be less powerful then the heros but it would be cool to be able to train some that u can retrain...

The Galactic and New Republics will be able to train Jedi.

maybe some jedi could have to option of switching to some sort of blaster weapon for the latter periods to mimick lukes style of training jedi to also use blasters.

Can't switch weapons in EaW. The Jedi will only have lightsabers.

I don't think they would fit the time frame.

Wooh Jedi as buyable units with space fighters. Sounds classy.

maybe be able to buy both a jedi with a lightsaber or a jedi with a blaster?
idk some preferred blasters,
i think they should have stealth xs, possibly later because they were around for the new republic so maybe in that release?  ;)

stealthX doesn't fit the time frame and that has aleady been a reason for some other rejections of units if I remember right.  can't really discuss why it doesn't fit in public, as it contains AL info.

Will you get different looking Jedi, or with different colour lightsabers?

We're not sure about the specifics yet, things like that'll be decided on later.

Not as generic units. The Empire, IR and CIS will have some of the major ones as heroes.

That sounds pretty interesting; I hope we get to see Cronal and Jerec, those two were pretty cool.

Jerec is in already (see past updates and members only section for more information). Cronal will not be in, on the grounds that I find him completely ridiculous.

It's their own fault they are power-hungry; there is no need to sympathise with them.

Is there going to be a specfic number of jedi that you can have at one time? Cause, if you think about it, Windu and yoda were always complaining about how the jedi were stretched too thin, and how there arn't enough of them left. :/

We probably won't limit it, but they'll be pretty expensive, only buildable on certain planets (Coruscant for Republic) and take a while to train so you won't have a lot at any time.
