I am new atthis game and I think I have a fairly good idea how to run the EotH, PA, IR but no idea what to do with the New Republic. I managed to win a Art of War (the 91 planet campaign) with them on normal but it was not pretty.
Early on I used B wing spam era 1, era 3 built MC90;s.
Era 4 rolled around and I got the new Star Destroyers and stuff so I tested them a bit and in era 5 I used E wings a lot along with Bothan assault cruisers,and the new ships and the Mon Cals (various models) more or less got relegated to defence. I built some of those bird like capitals.
At that point I was winning and I tested a few things out like E-Wing+ the frigate with a defender on it and experimented with the various ships. I think I like the Star Destroyer with the 3 K wings on it the best but found MC90's were still useful to have around.
Just wondering what a decent fleet composition is I more or less used doom stacks.

As the NR I like to use MC90/80 as the backbone of my fleets. They always take point and cover my carriers in the back since spamming fighters is what the NR does best. I do like the Nebulon SD and the Bothan Assault Ship in later eras to take point with the MC90s.

I've probably fought against the later-era New Republic more than I've played them, but those Bothan cruisers are bastards. Attacking a NR fleet with a few of them in it can get a bit nasty when them and the K-wings decide to start focusing fire on my ships.
