this may be a dumb question, but,
are all the releases for forces of corruption? or are they all for normal eaw? or both?
also i have one pleading favor to ask of you, please dont delete the consortium, i read u were going to in one spot on the forum, but i dont see a reason why you should,
thanks for answering my stupid question
-
Mod is for FOC and the consortium are no more.
-
ok, why no more consortium?
-
it's non-canon and pointless.
-
what do you mean by non-canon why is it pointless, do you mean that cis replaces it seems it would add options if you left it
thx :'(
-
The Zann Consortium were invented by Petroglyph purely for Forces of Corruption - They have no other canonical appearance at this point in time (this may change in future, if other authors decide to include them).
EAW and FoC are pretty limiting, anything beyond three main factions and you start having problems, so in Thrawn's Revenge, the Consortium are being replaced with a different faction for each release. In R1 (Empire of the Hand) with the Empire of the Hand, in R2 (Imperial Civil War) with the Ssi Ruuvi Imperium, and in R3 (Fall of the Republic) with the Chiss Ascendancy. Im sure you will agree that these factions are far more interesting than the non-canonical Zann Consortium they replace.
-
amen to that.
-
ok i think i understand, but so u there will only be 3 factions in the game at any point in time
and using each "icon" (batch file) i will be able to play each faction separately, so if i wanted to play the consortium id start normal foc, or says clones or droids id start the republic release, etc (just an example)
but there won't be more than 3 factions at once?
thanks
-
correct
-
got it, thanks ;)
-
will there be separate mods or what i don't quite understand
-
yes with each release comes a new mod
-
how do you know all this?
-
i read the faqs and other info, i guess it is also assumable that with each release theres a new mod, from what ive read thats what i think
-
Right.
Each release (R1, R2, and R3) will be a standalone mod (with its own folder in Mods) which you run using the requisite batch file/shortcut.
Each release has three playable factions for GC and Skirmish (although some GCs may just be for two of the factions to add variety). R1 has the Rebel Alliance, the Galactic Empire, and the Empire of the Hand. R2 has the New Republic, the Imperial Remnant and the Ssi Ruuvi Imperium. R3 has the Old Republic, the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and the Chiss Ascendancy. (Each release also has a number of small, non playable factions in the GCs)
I hope this helps to clear the matter up :)
-
thanks slornie that does clear things up a lot
-
sweet slornie thats exactly what i wanted too :P
thanks
-
I thought that Arbs said that each one will add on new factions.
-
No. At one point we were planning compilation releases with all playable factions but that would make the game stop functioning.
-
one thing about eaw modding i didn't like is you can't mess with the faction numbers past + or - 1
-
No... You can have as many as you want as long as the total number is under 21, you just can't use scripting for the fourth and onwards.
-
yea thats what i meant
-
Does that mean that in each release only three will be playable, but the rest will still be in?
-
No. Each release will only have three playable, and however many unplayable that are in their description. In some cases, formerly playable factions will return as non-playable faction but this will be explained today in more detail in the Admiral's Louge.
-
planets are retained though, right?
-
Yes.
-
so is each mod based in a different time line or are they just the same time era with different factions?
-
Ever read the about page? I shouldn't have to explain that.
-
i guess i will read it now. are you going to be able to include a galactic conquest with all 170 planets for people with the high processing capapble computers?
-
Arb already answered this in the February Part 4 Update (http://gutr.swrebellion.com/forums/index.php/topic,701.0.html):
There'll be about 70 tops in any GC that gets released with the main releases.
In response to 'Snaky' asking about a GC with all planets on:
I might, but it'd be after the release of R3, obviously... Also, it may require some editing that I wouldn't want to spend more of my life doing at that point.
-
And this isn't even the right place to ask that question in the first place.
-
allright thanks slornie
