I've just read that Warwick Davis will be joining Star Wars Rebels season 4. And who is he playing?
Rukh, the Noghri that killed Thrawn in Legends.
And here I was hoping they'd go for exile to the unknown regions instead of his death.

Just because Rukh is in Rebels doesn't mean Thrawn is going to die. Vader gave Thrawn control of the Noghri about this time in Legends too, and Thrawn still lived for ages.

Well ages is a bit extreme, Vader gifted the Noghri to Thrawn after his successful ambush at Derra IV annihilated many rebel transports. However Thrawn didn't actually start using the Noghri until he came back four and a half years after Endor and he died the following year from Ruhk's blade. All told that is just a time period of 6ish years

I thought Vader had handed them over earlier than that, but still. If Leia hadn't visited Honoghr the Noghri wouldn't have turned, and I think it unlikely that Rebels will find time for a storyline like that amongst the other stuff they have to tie up in the final season.

actually Rukh himself serve in the Unknown regions with Thrawn because Rukh is the one who cut off Delek Kerrnals hand when he was about to destroy a priceless piece of Thrawn's art collection.

Well he seems to have employed him sometimes though it might just be a continuity issuem since Ruhk is nowhere to be seen in the final Nuso Esva campaign and one of the Pirate stories. It is possible he just kept Ruhk around periodically instead of having a cohort of Noghri.

I mean didn't Thrawn deploy Noghri teams, I think that means he had them during that time. Maybe?

To my knowledge he didn't, you don't really see him sending out Noghri consistently til the attempt to capture Leia's twins. I'm hard pressed to remember him using them heavily before that.

Well didn't he deploy them to capture Leia and Luke at first?

Well specifically he first deployed them to capture leias unborn twins9and leia by proxy) the ones against Luke were to keep him away while the actual kidnapping was conducted since it was decided converting him might take a lot of effort, but if they COULD take him it was a secondary objective.

Well, coming off the end of the recent thrawn book, something has to happen to him before the end of the aftermath series.
