No idea if this has heen discussed before.

I was wondering if there were plans to include the shielded variant of TIE/INs, or plans to not include it, and what reasoning.

probably not, since the only place i can remember that being a thing was Zaarin's rebellion against the empire, who died before the mod starts

According to the wiki Thrawn started the pratice in the Empire during his Campaign and it was continued. That said, I don't remember it from my read through of the Thrawn Trilogy.

We've talked about using shielded and even some hyperdrive-equipped TIE Interceptors in a few places, so they'll likely turn up.

Palatines Gaurd also flew modified red tie interceptors with shields and hyperdrives IIRC maybe allow a few squads of those while palps is the IR leader?
