Hello There.
I want to talk about the A9 Floating Fortress the "Rival to the AT-AT" in the possession of the Pentastar Alignment and my certain issues with it.
I understand the A9 is made to be a command vehicle and transport for the Alignment, however I feel it is under-powered as an actual assest to its ground forces, yes the sensor ping is very powerful but only benefits a select few units, even fewer for the alignment, therefore I wish to recommend some possible suggestions to make it more than a glorified miniature sensor relay:
- Possibly increase its damage with its main cannon to be a source of defence, as it is now it struggles to kill basic infantry.
- Possibly remove the sensor ping and instead increasing its view range (it can see more than other units)
- Create a second turret for it, as both turrets could shoot independently from one another.
- Possible increase to its defences, as it can barely cope with LIGHT tanks, especially if you say it requires less escort than a AT-AT (which itself seems a waste for the Pentastar due to the factions reliance on mobility)
Also a little guilty complaint of mine, the detpacks for the commando units are completely crippling for ground combat, its damage and range can eradicate a well planned attack. Also it seems to be easy to just blitzkrieg opposing bases with the commandos.

Several ground units are getting significant changes over 2.2/2.3, and the A9 will be one of them. We don't intend to entirely push it into the same space as the AT-At, though.

Funnily enough, I just made a topic about the commando's detpack (which I incorrectly called the thermal detonator- mixed it up with vanilla) I agree, much OP. As to the A9, I don't really use it in it's current configuration. Not useful enough to justify it next to another group of those superb sabre tanks, which can face-scout four spots on the map at once and don't need to be refreshed to do it. Also, the A9 needs either a light shield to ignore infantry rifle attacks or a decent anti-infantry gun. Don't get me twisted though: much love to mod writers; exceptional work on every front. If you hadn't done so well I wouldn't be spending my time here trying to influence it towards even greater heights!
