Title: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Meyer on February 14, 2008, 01:12:24 AM
Revelation will be coming soon. discuss about it on this topic.
following will include spoilers. If you don't want to know, don't read on.
I assume you know how to read that.

Already on wookiepedia it is stated that Pellaeon will be killed! But on the bright side, Daala returns.

I'm not sure is that correct or not but that is what is said on wookiepedia. Personally I hope it's false information.

Well, i dont trust Wookieepedia to be always right, so i will wait until i read the book for myself.

so do I. But if that info is right I'm starting to believe there's something between Traviss and and Zahn.
That new imperial star destroyer has a nice name: Turbulent-class Star Destroyer.

I wouldn't be all that concerned if Pellaeon were to die. sure, he was a good character but I'm pretty sure he was well over 100 years old by then.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Meyer on February 14, 2008, 03:16:41 PM
but the way he dies. and why would he be on a battle at the age of 100 or so years? Personally In expected that he would have died at his sleep or some peaceful way. But he died as he lived.

And one reason why I hate it is that in my mind only the creator of a character should have the right to kill him/her.

And now, bets taken. Which main character will die next?

Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Slornie on February 14, 2008, 03:19:29 PM
Yeah, according to his Wookieepedia page he was born in 57BBY, so considering this is 40ABY, that would make him about 97.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)

pretty old for human.

In Star Wars, I think humans live a bit longer than in real life... 120 or something.

I would guess that that the next character to die would be one of the lesser Jedi Masters.  I believe that they are leaving it open to see what the reaction is to wether or not the sith(Jacen) wins, or the jedi(Luke) win.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Corey on February 14, 2008, 04:08:18 PM
I doubt they will kill another Jedi Master in this, they already killed Mara and Lobi. If they do it'll probably be either Kyp, Hamner or Ramis though....
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Slornie on February 14, 2008, 04:11:22 PM
Hmm.

I still reckon that Leia will die.  I think she will confront Jacen onboard the Anakin Solo (as she did in that dream of his, thus turning the dream into a Force vision of the future).

This will serve to make Han, Jaina, Luke, etc more determined to eliminate Jacen.  Also, in the event that Jaina is fighting him, she will have to concentrate on not giving in to the Dark side of the force, revenge, hate etc.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Meyer on February 14, 2008, 11:49:39 PM
Leia could be the next. Or maybe Han. But one option in my mind is that Luke battles against Jacen and decides to die so that he can come one with the force, like Obi-wan. He can then guide Jaina and help her kill Jacen.

humans would live a long time think about the ultra advanced medical science. the human body can live to 120 if it isn't struck by cancer or something else which for our current state is pretty much inevitable.

Your like my brother, we will start talking about ssome news event, he'll say nothing or only a little. Then, when we have moved on, he'll go back to the beginning!
Anyways, I believe that Luke will sacrifice himself so BEN can face Jacen. After all, Jaina has already proven hereslf and has felt the weight of destiny. It's Ben's turn to come into his own.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Corey on February 15, 2008, 03:09:32 PM
There is definitely going to be some Jaina on Jacen lightsaber action, the cover of Invincible even says so. Besides, when did Jaina really do anything really important, other than watch her brother and uncle beat the literal shit out of some Vong?

Keep in mind that they can only kill so many characters off in a series like this, especially when theres only two books left and they've already killed off Mara and they're apparently gonna kill Pellaeon as well.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Meyer on February 15, 2008, 03:13:10 PM
well I think that Jaina is untouchable as I believe that she will be the wife of Jag Fel, who in turn will be the first Emperor of Fel dynasty.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Corey on February 15, 2008, 03:20:09 PM
I'm not saying Jaina is gonna die, but I'm almost positive it'll come down to her and Jacen.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: vadereclipse on February 15, 2008, 04:37:59 PM
don't they have a bit of a force bond?
jaina's death could cause jacen's death.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Corey on February 15, 2008, 04:43:23 PM
No, thats not what a force bond does. That was just what happened between Kreia and the Exile.

I agree. the final duel will be between jaina and jacen.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: GrndAdmrlPellaeon on February 15, 2008, 07:41:24 PM
I do agree too. But I think Jacen will be about to die and then tricks Jaina into sparing him, one of three things will happen: she will have anticipated this, someone (I think Ben or Luke) will kill him, or she saves herself.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Meyer on February 16, 2008, 01:45:46 AM
Jacen must die. I don't believe they are going to let him. I mean he killed Mara so I see no way that Luke and Ben agree Jacen being left alive.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Dane Kiet on February 16, 2008, 09:46:59 PM
I believe it will happen like this.....
1. Jaina and Jacen fight
2. Jaina loses, but lives and realizes that it is not her destiny to kill him
3. Ben fights Jacen in the final battle and defeats him
4. Ben is left with a choice :kill Jacen or spare him
Option one: Kills Jacen; he does so, but skates paralously close to the darkside
Option two: Spares him: Jacen then attacks one last time, and ends up killing Jaina. Ben becomes enraged and kills him. Hollow victory for Ben.
When it comes down to it, either Jaina or Luke is going to die. If Luke dies, it will Ben will see it. If Jaina dies, Ben will see it. Either way, it's Obi all over again. I honestly believe that this is the story where Ben faces his most important foe.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Meyer on February 17, 2008, 03:43:14 AM
I believe it is Jaina who has to kill Jacen. But before that Luke does Kenobi and sacrifices himself.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)

What about Tahiri? Any predictions on her fate?
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Meyer on February 17, 2008, 12:38:08 PM
she is a minor character so either she turn back to light or kills herself after realising what she has done. Maybe she helps to bring Jacen down.

I think it would be cool if Jacen dies during a massive space battle. His ship, Anakin Solo, is bombed to pieces while Jacen is standing on the bridge.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Dane Kiet on February 17, 2008, 07:00:03 PM
The Anakin Solo should die in a massive fire ball, but Jacen needs to die in a saber duel, mono a mono, between him and Ben or him and Jaina.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: GrndAdmrlPellaeon on February 18, 2008, 12:27:47 AM
I agree, thats more of a fleet commander's death, not a powerful Sith's.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Meyer on February 18, 2008, 02:41:04 AM
Let's say that Jacen is killed during a battle and after that Anakin Solo is vaporized.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Dane Kiet on February 18, 2008, 04:46:21 PM
hmmmm, does that sound familiar? (thinks of Malak and Palpatine)
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Slornie on February 18, 2008, 04:50:43 PM
Or perhaps while Jaina and Jacen are fighting, Ben and Tahiri also fight, and Ben persuades her how twisted Jacen has made her, and how much Anakin would have hated it - Then it culmulates with her killing herself and taking Jacen with her :P
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Dane Kiet on February 18, 2008, 04:53:27 PM
Then Jaina and Ben get away while the ship explodes around them in a huge fireball! Then they celebrate on a primitive planet around a bonfire a bunch of locals create!
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)

Hmm, im certainly getting a sense of Deja Vu with the LotF series :P
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Dane Kiet on February 18, 2008, 05:04:02 PM
Same here. I mean, Jacen tries NOT to fall to the darkside for the same reason as Anakin, so what does he do? He goes to the darkside for the same reasons Anakin does!

I agree. LotF seems a like a same story, different players. But I trust that in the end both Jacen and Tahiri are killed. And maybe we see the formation of Fel dynasty.

Well, its possible, but i would hope they have a couple more story arcs to run through before we get there.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Meyer on February 19, 2008, 08:01:39 AM
I hope they don't prolong it anymore. It's not certain of course but Jaina and Jag are very likely going to get married. I hope they would confirm it during the end of LotF or make it impossible somehow so we shouldn't have to guess anymore.

Zahn is the best and there are few good also but then there are many bad ones too.

Before working on LotF, Denning wrote Star by Star (from the NJO), Tatooine Ghost, and the Dark Nest Trilogy.  The latter of which i personally hate.

As for other authors, Zahn is my favourite, although i like most of them.

Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Meyer on February 22, 2008, 11:26:29 AM
no it wouldn't but I hope they don't make someone lose his/hers arm. It's getting boring that in nearly every book story and movie of SW someone loses arm.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Isamu on February 22, 2008, 06:03:21 PM
that is because the arm is a symbol of power. lose an arm you lose power. they could be a little more flexible though. maybe she gets a lung punctured or her lower jaw is cut off that would be cool.
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Dane Kiet on February 22, 2008, 06:04:51 PM
Lower jaw huh? Like Malak?
No offense to you, but they need to REALLY think outside the box now in order to do something original

Its in the back of the book. There is always a preview of the next book in the back
The Invincible preview left me thoroughly confused....
Remember how the Mandalorians made a deal with the Verpine to offer them protection in return for helping them with the beskar? Well the Imperial Remnant (Likley Under Jacen Solo AKA Darth Caedus) Attacked the Verpine Colony and gassed the whole place killing pretty much all the verpine. Fett and Jaina Solo parted ways as he got her a ship off the station. Her training was complete
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)

I figured that much, but there was no setup for it. It was basically just throwing ships in whenever he felt like it, and when they destroyed a ship there was very little description of why it got destroyed.

What annoyed me was the absence of Fett's and Jaina's character development from the last book! Also, how will Fett get his revenge if Jaina dies? Jacen will still be the crazy psychopath in-charge!
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: Meyer on March 05, 2008, 03:29:00 PM
What revenge? I have to say that I'm starting to fear that Boba will be killed in the last book. Something that he tries to kill some jedi and gets himself killed. But I hope they don't kill him. he is the last top five SW characters of mine that is alive.

Well, he is getting on in years now, even if he's fixed the clone degenerative thing.

I think he might die as a distraction to enable Jaina to catch Jacen unawares.

no no no no. that's going too far. they've already killed half of the main characters who were alive at the beginning of the first books. So let's just kill jacen and be done with it.

What revenge?
For killing his daughter, Fett wants Jaina to kill Jacen. But, in the sneak-peek, it says Boba doesn't care if Jacen or Jaina dies. I said what the fuck.

This plot is so stupid! >:(

They are taking forever to do minor things! They could have made five (maximum) books and be done with it! Instead it dragging on and on.

The main problem is that the opinions of the characters change every time they change authors. It's not that bad between Allston and Traviss, but once Denning joins in, it becomes really screwy!

See! I don't see the point of Revelation. They could have added four chapters to the beginning of the next one and not have had to make that one. Anyways what Revelation was in the book? Why call it that?

nothing so far im not very far in the book yet

The revelation in Revelation was that Jacen revealed that he was a Sith, and that his new Sith name is Darth Caedus.

Im not too bothered about the length of the series, im more concerned about how it concentrates so much on a few characters in each book, with only vague references to the others - What has Luke and the other Jedi been doing during Revelation, same for Han and Leia, what happened to Wedge, Syal, Tycho etc?

I read a Interview with the Three authors and if you guys have noticed each Author has (Or Had. Bye bye Alema  ;D) there own personal character to write about
Karren Traviss Had Boba Fett
Troy Denning had Alema Rar
And Arron Allasting(Or whatever it is) had Wedge
But i guess thats going to be excluded in the last books and there going to rap up with all the characters
Thats a minor reason why the books were long. Another reason is that each book was at least 350-400 pages long. You want them to write four 1,000 page books? Not only does it cost more money, they'd probably make alot more just selling the books seperatly

that explains a lot im sitting there reading and thinking who the fuck is darth caedus.

I think the Revelation is Ben/Luke/Leia/Jaina/Han finding out Jacen killed Mara... And if you'd been paying attention to the series at all you'd know Darth Caedus is Jacen's Sith name...

What Im saying is that they are dragging on. Im not saying the books are too short. They are taking too long to explain what happens. They should have co-authored all of the books, so they can have more continuity and not so long.

I dont think the series is too long, really.  I mean, if you compare it to the Prequel trilogy/Clone Wars (with which it has some very obvious similarities), that was three films/books, plus however many books/series they can slot into the three year war.  So to be honest, keeping it to nine books is pretty good going.

or if you compare it to the yv wars. in that case this could be a very long series

Are you people serious!? They are still expanding and finishing the Star Wars universe!? MY GOD! I havent even heard of these sets of books, sorry to be off topic, but I was REALLY surprised by the fact that they are still continuing with the Star Wars story-I thought it was finished. I really dont know anything about post Galactic Civil War, so could people enlighten me perhaps? Or just point me in the right direction? Thanks anyways.

the galactic civil war is the rebellion fighting the empire. they just dont refer to it like that in the movies.

anarchist,
i am not a star wars reader, but expended universe goes both ways before and after battle of yavin, although there is much more after. before, they go into things like the exar kun war, although there are no big bby series. aby is split into 5 or 6 series. from 4 ABY, there is the dark empire series (i think), thrawn trilogy, a series in between 9ABY and 20-ish ABY (might be dark empire) yuuzhaan vong serise until 27ABY. then, dark nest crisis througha fair portion of the 30ABYs. legacy of the force, currently from 40ABY.
there is also the legacy era (not to be confused with legacy of the force), which is in 130ABY. this is somewhat separate due to the gap. whether the gap will be filled in, i do not know.

Didn't Ventress just play dead? And then she commandeered the shuttle that was transporting her to Coruscant. Or am I very lost?

Nope Count Dooku Sacrified her to make his escape when anakin skywalker and obi-wan invaded with a clone regiment (When i say sacrified i mean she got owned by Anakin and her wounds needed care and Count Dooku just abandoned her)

she asked to be taken far away from the clone wars after boz pity. however, there is a continuity after she defected, with her appearing at the battle of xagobah. meyer, where did you hear that about ventress?

im pretty sure ventress died.

the new essential chronology says that she faked her death.  And so does wookiepedia. And with her Alpha-17 disappeared also.

But I hope she doesn't return. But the whole LotF has been full of things that are weird, stupid and ridiculous. So she might make a come back.

I think a decarbonated (is that a word?) Sith army (hopefully led by the New Sith Empire, rather than Silri) vs Jacen's Galactic Alliance (or whoever/whatever is left after Invincible) could be pretty interesting!
Title: Re: Revelation (Warning containing spoilers)
Post by: aNaRcHiSt44 on March 13, 2008, 10:48:52 PM
Decarbonated is a word-dont worry about that, as long as the meaning of the word is understood, it can still be counted as a word. For example; a*se-kissing-lunatic. Anyway, it would be interesting, but I would still prefer it if there werent dissent between the Sith-it just makes it so much easier for the Jedi to beat them, but then again, I think the only reason the Jedi keep defeating the SIth is because half the time the Sith are too busy fighting amongst themselves. Oh yeah, I think I might start a new thread today on favorite cahracters.....

Which is Jusik Barden who is from the Republic Commando series. The Republic commando series is linked off the Legacy of the Force series. You will better understand the mandalorians and who they are if you read these.

Apart from Karen Traviss.

She has managed to link the Republic Commando search for the Kaminoan into LotF via Boba Fett's search for the same.
