They're stated to be weaker than imperial generators one for one. What do you think the relative strength is?
Generous estimate; 70% of imperial generator
Reserved estimate; 60% of " "
Note: In EU/Legends, the Mon Calamari installed three times as many shield generator on their ships for their size.

not really sure where you want to go with this... :-\

It isn't that hard; the question is "How strong is a SINGLE mon calamari shield generator compared to an Imperial unit exactly?"

My headcanon was always that Mon Cal generators may be weaker, but the multiple generator banks made it harder to overwhelm the shields regardless - when one is overloaded, another takes over for it so that it can go into a recharge/cooldown cycle, and by the time this next set of generators and the set after them overload the first set is ready to be turned back on. Even if Imperial shield generators can individually take more of a beating, they lack this kind of redundancy, so once the shield generator is overwhelmed the ship is defenseless.

Can I get a source on that Mon Cal shields being weaker than IMP shields statement? I was under the impression that they were stronger/more advanced than IMP Generators.

They're stronger because Mon Calamari built in THREE times as many as others have on ships of the same size. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Mon_Calamari_Star_Cruiser#Characteristics
