The new republic feels too xenophobic for me . I mean; wasnt that the empires thing? Here are some infantry suggestions for the rebels / new republic

Both an commandos- use snipers

Wookie hunters - use bow casters - more expendable chewbaccas

Twilek commandos - use han solo pistols and can use the bribe ability to turn imperials on your side

Sullastan mercs- use grenade launchers

Trandoshan mercs- use disruptors

while all these things would be cool, the main problem is actually creating the models.

No? Alot of the models already exist in vanilla eaw (wookies , sullustans, bothans, twileks ) the only trandos

They do, however each individual unit requires it's own animations for firing, crouching and actions different from the native civi population. That is a lot of work

Those are civilian models wearing essentially jeans and jackets with limited animation sets and pistols. New weapons and having military outfits means new models and entirely new animation sets; all that exists are heads.

More to the point, making each species a different type of unit also doesn't actually add anything, considering they ultimately end up doing the exact same thing as each other. We don't need three types of New Republic commandos. What we intend to do, after we have a base NR infantry model we're happy with, is make it so there's more variety within the companies. Not as separate units (so an NR soldier squad will have humans, Twi'leks, Wookiees, Bothans, etc).

Oh for sure.
 These just. Examples i barely put thought into honestly the only one i could see are grenadiers

So god emperor, you mean to say whenever you and team thrawn get to it or want to do it ...the NR troopers will be different in some point ?
