Title: how do you compose your ground forces?
Post by: Helix345 on July 27, 2016, 11:21:23 AM
As a pentastar player, I throw in some podwalkers for anti air, some storm commandos for capturing things, and a buttload of hellfires.

Hailfires, not hellfires.

When I play the PA, I use Century Tanks a lot, a few IFT-X when going against heavier armor than the Century tank can handle, enforcers for capturing, some Hailfires, 1 A9 Floating Fortress for revealing the fog of war and quickly transporting my enforcers, and AT-AA's for anti-air.

I use Hailfire's mostly backed up by IFT-X, A9 floating fortress for ping ability LAAT for troop transport / Air cover / Power generator attacks, Normal PA enforcers for troops and swamp speeders for picking off infantry trying to run.

As the NR, I use almost exclusively freerunners, air speeders/v-wings, and infiltrators.  Throw in the NR's plethora of ground heroes and this will be enough for 90+% of battles.

As PA:
I use AT-PTs for anti air and anti infantry duties backed with LAAT/i-s and infantry inside said LAAT/i-s. If I want to autoresolve I use Dark Jedis only :D

As IR:
AT-PT again, since it is multi-role which I love, and AT-ATs and 1 squad of Specialists, since they can save units, even if you have no access to build pads. From Era 2-on also adding XR-85s to the mix.

As NR:
Speeders(or V-wings in late eras), T2-Bs and Armored Freerunners. The keyword is RUSH and rush hard

As EotH:
Megamaser Tanks covered by Flame Tanks and Mortar Tracked Armoured Tanks,1 squad of Kirovs for AA and AirStraekers as soon as they are available.
