Ok, had to ask this question. What capital ship is everyone's favorite in the the mod? Feel free to also state why =D
And by capital ship I mean by the actual definition of capital warship. I.E. Gunboat and up. Though please no SSDs.
Anyway, my own favorite is the Nebula-Class Star Destroyer, which just happens to be my favorite Star Wars ship. Mostly because its by far the most beautiful Star Destroyer ever =D

Imperator II-class Star Destroyer
I love it because it keeps the classic SD look while packing a greater punch.

I can understand that, I really like the ISD2 as well. Though the Tector-Class is my favorite in the Imperial Line
-
I'll have to go with the Phalanx i'm more scared of it than a SSD.
-
Venator. In it's day, it was incredibly powerful, and packed a massive fighter/bomber punch. ANd it's just so beautiful.
-
MC80b. Purely because having played the NR so much, almost always starting in era 1 in a multi-era campaign, and relying so heavily on this orange arrowhead has forced me to love it. It's even the main cap ship in my Ascendancy fleets.
-
The modified custom one of a kind Executor class SSD Night Hammer

I have several favorites, but narrowing it down to each faction
NR: Endurance-class fleet carrier. Beautiful ship, IMO one of the best looking in the game. Only wish it brought a bit more to the table for its population points (either more fighters launched at a time or a special ability of some type).
EotH: the whole Sycan line of capitals (Phalanx-Syndic-Kariek), but I really like the Kariek. It's pint-sized and packs a punch, has some anti-light frigate abilities and anti-fighter.
PA: Praetor. I don't even really build ISDs for my PA fleets. Just a Praetor to anchor my carriers and corvettes around, and some Vics to provide support. They have it all: hard hitting, long range (practically a space artillery unit when it comes to range), decent fighter complement.
IR: Crimson Command VSDs. Fast, heavily armed. Practically an ISD on a faster frame and with concentrate firepower. And it's red.

If there would be a dark green ship that would be my favorite.

Praetor II all the way. I get to start shooting early enough to destroy a few frigates, not to mention that they are both beautiful and terrifying to behold. And unlike a SSD I can have 4 of them out at once.

Yes. Praetors both look and are amazing. The long range is what's so great about them: basically like a space artillery unit, back them up with IPVs and carriers and they're nigh untouchable. Can't wait for Bellators though (and Gladiators, but that's just because I'm weird lol).

Well, Revanchist, i present you Tector-Lancer-Carrack spam, or in case its not available, ISD2-lancer-carrack. Hihi.
But anyway i see your point

Well yeah obviously that's an issue but the AI never does that in my games. Just spams MTCs if it can.
-
Yeah, what is it with MTC spam? They're one of the most useless units the IR gets in any era, they have almost no offensive capability, ridiculously week shields, and carry no bombers. WHY would it spam THEM?

IDK. I like them better than standard escort carriers in Era 3 (because with all the heavy firepower Palp and Co bring in bombers aren't terribly necessary), but Era 4 and 5 I'd rather use Acclamators.
-
Well. I think that its the same reason that they spam sacheens

Lol and Marauder Corvettes. Just killed 63 of those plus 32 Sacheens on my PA FTGU.
-
Huh... Petroglyph AI...
I love it when it tries to take a planet again... and again for about 100 times with largely the same forces. And I stop them with 1 space station, 2 golans and a Hypervelocity gun
-
It's true the ai is rubbish.
I've taken out SSD + supporting fleet out with a Light frigate shipyard 2 golans I's and an ion cannon.
And if their lucky I can lose a Golan.
-
Yeah, but thats the ion cannon. The ai really gets annoying when it decides to actually use its so called Intelligence and attack with fleets of strikes, carracks, lancers and Dreadnoughts. They are actually painful since the ion isn't effective and there are just Soo many of them
-
I didn't find them that difficult I prioritize the lancers and use the fighters against them the rest of their fleet gets distracted by the fighters but keep moving then the golans chew through them.
-
yeah I do so too, But it's when they throw 4 or 5 successive fleets of around 300 total strikes, lancers, dreadnoughts, and carracks att one planet it gets extremely annoying and actually powerful. What makes it even more annoying is that it takes soo long to win those fights as the AI just keeps throwing them at you. Also sometimes you can't even click the ships because of all the TIEs
-
Yeah, those swarms suck. Depending on the planet's situation, I'll often just eat the loss in space because I'm sick of doing the battle over and over again. The AI can't do a thing against a determined NR ground defense, and it doesn't tend to repeatedly attack on the ground as much as it will in space.
-
yeah. It usually only does one or two Massive attacks on the ground and then they leave it alone for a few minutes
-
I would say it's a toss up between: Crimson Command Victory II Class Star Destroy (including the 13x), Nebula Class Star Destroyer, Imperial II Class Star Destroyer and Praetor Mark II Battle Cruiser.

Very har question here, it would be easier for me to name my least favorite ship but I'll try.
I like the most three ships:
1. VSD1. My absolute favorite of all time. Verstile ship that can effectively fight against ships of it's price category and hold it's own against fighters (what a pity that in Balance and Flavor submod it spawns one fighter and one bomber instead of two fighters, since I found TIE Bombers pretty useless).
2. Venator. As much as I love ships with missiles I love carriers and most of time building my fleets around this ship no matter who I am playing for: IR or PA.
3. Endurance for the reason stated before about Venator.
-
phalanx destroyers because i have never lost one and at this point I've killed a lot of SSDs with them

I definitely agree. the VSD1 is one of the best, if not THE best of its class in destroying fighter squadrons by itself. I certainly prefer the VSD1 to the VSD2 or even the ISD1.
-
That being said, my very top spot would have to go to the ISD2. The ISD is such a staple to the Empire in general, and the ISD2 is a great improvement to the original.

Yeah I prefer VSD1 to the VSD2 especially in the FTGU early game because they are multifunction. However, Crimson Command is definitely superior than either.

This is true. I suppose I forgot to consider them because they're only available in the 4th era, which only has one campaign dedicated to it other than the multi-era campaigns. (although, I do love me some Reunification)
-

Actualy, not. Crimson Command is steroid version of VSDII and it is not as versatile as VSDI. And I would easily trade Ion cannons and tons of turbolasers for missiles since IR have hard time with NR's fighters.
-
Hmmmm Me? My favorite is the praetor power of ssd in pocket from. Other then that maybe victory 2 sds
-
Praetor II for me. Seems a bit odd that The Empire never had much love for it despite the heavier firepower involved...
