I've been able to successfully install and play ICW before... Now it's just a mess and I have no idea why.
I fixed some issues, I downloaded the RAM fix and that at least gave me the opportunity to play the vanilla game. However, the mod won't even start. The stormtrooper shows up and then CTD after a few seconds.
I tried reinstalling both FoC and ICW but nothing. I tried checking the modpath and it looks alright. I tried looking for the log but I can't find it.
I also didn't install it via Steam and this is my path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption
Mods folder is there, the mod path is there, everything seems fine but I just can't run it.

If you used to have RaW or AotR installed, it is possible that you still have some of their files in Forces of Corruption\Data that weren't removed during your last FoC uninstall.
-
Nope, it's a fresh install. I have no other mods.
-
You might want to make sure that your computer's anti virus or firewall is blocking the ICW files because they're from a foreign location. Other than that, try to do a full uninstallation of the game and proceed to remove the \Lucas Arts\ directory folder and then install the game again and re download the mod.
I hope this helps

Still nothing. I tried both the steam version and the Installer and both have the same issue.
Is there any way to find the logfile? I feel like that could tell me at least what's making the crash.
-
Hm. When it crashes, try pressing the windows key instead of Ctrl+alt+Del. This should give you a exception error message and direct you to a log file. Which should be in the same place as the .exe file. (C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption)

The logfile will not give you any useful information, it only contains memory addresses.
The first thing is to try the ram fix again to make sure it actually installed correctly, from here: http://static.dolimg.com/mh_netstorage/lucasfilm/patches/pc/FOC_RAM_MPLobby_update.exe . It puts a file into your FoC XML file, so it's important that nothing messes with it.
Second, if that doesn't work, is to make sure you have admin privileges.
-
Still nothing :/. I ended up uninstalling and installing everything because that's a different RAM fix. I checked the Firewall, even applied both RAM fixes individually. The windows key didn't work for me, it doesn't throw any errors, just CTD in seconds.
I even tried to run the batch file as admin and it doesn't even start, the command window pops up for like a fraction of a second and then its gone lol.
-
You could try installing it somewhere else than the Program Files folder.
-
4th time I uninstalled and installed everything. Still nothing.
I really don't understand why this happens now. The only thing that changed since the last time I played the mod was the addition of more RAM and that I upgraded to Windows 10. Is it possible the OS affects the mod? Just to be sure I tried to run in various compatibilities and it's still the same CTD.
I read that a problem could occur if I have two different MasterTextFiles. I do have those, my base game is Spanish and the mod is English. However I tried changing the base game to _ENGLISH and wouldn't run. Do I need to download a separate file or what?
-
Rather than changing the game's language to English, rename the Textfile to _SPANISH (or, for testing, remove it entirely).
-
Well then, that actually worked. Thank you very very much, sir.
