Title: How to make new models and hardpoints.
Post by: RallyToMe on November 30, 2015, 11:48:56 AM
I was planning on modifying some of the units in ICW, but I seem to have hit a snag on adding/changing hardpoints on ships. Can somebody give me a quick overview of how to do that?

Also, what program was used to make the models for ICW?

Hardpoints need a bone on the model to attach to, which is done while rigging the model. All rigging is done in 3DS Max 8/9

Thanks, Corey. Can you tell me what you used to make the models?

The best thing to use for modeling is 3DS Max and Maya since they're the industry standards and provide the most tools.

This might prove useful for my purposes too in the future

Just make sure 3ds is version 8/9.  From what I understand from prior posts of Corey's, alamo2max and max2alamo plugins don't work in versions newer than 9.

Thanks, guys.  :D

I'm trying to add the Buzz Droids back into the game (albeit significantly more powerful, and in the form of Grutchin), but I have no idea where to find the data on them- does anyone have that?

Any chance anyone with max 8/9 could do a picture or video tutorial of what the screens should look like when using the plugins? Since the text description that comes with the plugins isn't very helpful. Would be greatly appreciated, tried to see how it looked from a few Nomada videos but those aren't exactly the easiest to follow.
