How about the HAVr A9 Floating Fortress for the Empire? http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Floating_Fortress
Would be another unit unique to TR (i havent seen it in any other mods, either released or in development). Would be an alternative to the AT-AT or Juggernaught.
-
Yes, we plan to have that in in the role of a transport.
-
nice. great thing that you take many ships and vessels to this mod.
-
Sweet idea. Although I came up with this as an idea for remnants of the past yesterday. Weird...
-
Yeah, that is weird but anyway it'll be useful as a transport.
-
It will also be one of the vehicles that serve as mobile RPs, for those who were here long enough to have read that update....
-
I think i vaguely remember something about them :P
-
i like idea of floating fortress but it would be hard to model by the looks of it
-
By the way, which release(s) are you intending on including this in?
-
do they have some sort of weaponary?
-
Two top-mounted turreted heavy blaster cannons.
-
nice. that should be effective enough.
-
And its a hell of a lot faster than an AT-AT and isnt susceptible to being tripped up :P
-
and it can transport troops inside it.
-
Only 10 men though, whats that compared with an AT-AT?
-
AT-AT transports 40 men if I remember right.
-
and were able to pack a speeder bike squadron
-
The thing is, you had to actually be able to get into an AT-AT. Kinda hard once it is alr=eady deployed.
-
wasnt the floating fortress a modified repulsorlift AT-AT?
-
Nope. It was completely different.
-
on second thought, its shape was a lot different
was its firepower comparable?
-
I think it's a bit weaker. are there any other transports in the mod? ANd how many troops will they transport?
-
strategically, seeing that it has significant firepower, it should carry less that say, the juggernaut B5, so id say maybe 4 or 5
-
why should the firepower affect the transportation capability?
-
I think he means for in-game balance. I think maybe it should have the deploy ability, but limited to one squad of stormtroopers.
-
I think that is useful for AT-AT but for Floating Fortress the load/unload thing would be better in my mind.
-
It only has a capacity of 10 passengers and/or (im not sure which) 1tonne of cargo..
-
so it could transport 10 passengers.
-
Yeah, which would be a squad of stormtroopers give or take a man :P
-
yep. they are nine men strong if I remember coorrctly. And I think that AT-AT deploy think would be fine but how do you then put the troops back in the transport?
-
Lol, i hadnt thought of it that way.. Maybe you're right, two slots? Cargo hold and troop benches?
Im looking forward to being able to use it as a Mobile Reinforcement Point though :D
-
yep. I just sucks when you have only couple of reinforcement points and you get so little units from one. this will be great add-on. you can call reinforcements everywhere you want, just like in space battles.
-
balance is a factor
-
Agreed. It'll still be cool though!

Most of the planets now have a land population cap of about 20. You start with that, you end with that. The RPs now just serve as places to land.
-
good. that should make the land battles more interesting.
-
not to mention tactical
should make flanking muych easier
