Title: AI Difficulty differences / AI SSD Suicide Bombing me?
Post by: Pentastar Enforcer on July 30, 2015, 09:37:28 PM
Okay so yeah what are the differences between the AI difficulties? Just curious as I usually play on Admiral but since I started playing again the AI has been pretty peculiar. Basically the IR has been suicide Bombing Ithor with fleets pretty much only made up of SSDs. This one pictured was the third in the row, after I had to fight a fleet with 30 carracks, 20 escort carriers and 2 SSDS, then Isaard and 2 SSDS, now this. My game crashed mid fight when I tried to save, whats going on folks? :(

Tried attaching a photo but sadly the forum gods have said no. It was just a picture of another Hero SSD suicide spam at Ithor with 3 ssds Thrawn and his 2 captians and I think a single escort carrier.

Difficulty difference in EaW is mostly about credit generation and ship strength, with a few minor behavioural differences between them. The AI essentially just ignores build restrictions on any difficulty though, not something we can change (mostb AI functions are entirely untouchable)

I just don't understand why they want Ithor so badly as to send around 8-10 SSDs to attack the planet. I'm not sure if my games crashing just because of the sheer amount of shit flying around on the screen from all the lasers of the idk 4-5 SSDs fighting at the same time
