Hey I'm recently re-installed Star Wars Empire at War Gold Pack on Windows 8.1 to play Thrawn's Revenge but everytime I try to start the game, I get a compatibility error message. I've tried testshooting compatibility on both the launcher and FOC.exe files and nothing has worked. Was wondering if anybody on the mod team had a solution.
Thanks.

*Troubleshoot
Also wanted to add I'm using the retail disk version.
Thanks.

Do you get the error when you try to start the base game as well or just the mod?
-
Both sadly. Can't play EaW, FoC, or Thrawn's Revenge :(

Have you check the launcher for the right program files because it should be Program files (x86).
I think I had that same problem also on 8.1 and gold pack

Are you asking me if I installed the base game and the mod into the Programs files (x86) folder? The answer to that is yes.
Are you still playing Thrawn's Revenge on 8.1 as well? Or did you have to go back to Windows 7 or lower to get it to work?
-
No the launcher in the folder to play doesn't automatically go to (x86) you have to manually change it to that.

Oh. Ya the launchers go to the x86 files just fine.
Don't really know what to do at this point. =/

Have you tried running the game in compatibility mode?

I've tried all the options for compatibility mode and haven't had any luck. =/

I don't have Windows 8.1, but a simple web search found a potential solution. Hope this helps.
