Title: viscount republic in Week 10 Really? EDIT: New Record 5 Weeks
Post by: Terricola69 on April 19, 2014, 05:32:25 PM
Play with imperial remnant on stage "Infinities: From the Ground up" on Normal difficulty and in 10 week the republic attack me Farfin with a Viscount.
Is it a bug? Because if it is not, I understand other thing for "normal" dificult  :-\\

And that's kinda weird because I went to week 154 on FTGU at Admiral and never got attacked by a Viscount, or attacked one myself...

The AI in EaW cheats and ignores build requirements and limitations whenever it decides it wants to. There's not really much we can do about it.

Yes and no. Mostly playing (& focused on) Phoenix Rising mod and since 1.2 AI doesn't seem to cheat (or if it does it is impossible to notice). It was massive problem in v. 1.0/1 where AI could spam 10 Executors over Ilum (only 1 fighter starbase slot) or something. Perhaps solution lies in PR approach. Defo help came to PR from ICW team in shape of DeFreezer. Heavy units/textures/scripts concentration always run PR into horrid problems.

As for being attacked by Viscount. Never happened so far. Will keep an eye on this one.

To be honest, SSDs don't really scare me anymore. Just killed Zsinj, Trigit, 2 Neb Bs and an Escort Carrier with one[/i] MC-80B and eight each of Hapan Battle Dragons and Novas (only a light frigate shipyard, no IC). Lost six of each, but the enemy was crushed.

I agree SSDs just aren't scary anymore, Viscounts on the other hand are terrifying. Never in history has a whale had so many guns before and before people say SSDs and Viscount has the same amount of guns, Viscounts are scarier because no one expects it to be so dangerous because it looks like a whale and that their not scared of SSDs anymore.

Viscounts are abomination!  Only the IImperial Designs are righteous

What the New Republic would have done was build a super-colossal Golan–killing battle machine. They would have called it the Force Light or the Galaxy Defender or the Nostril of Obi-Wan or something equally noble. They would have spent billions of credits, employed thousands of contractors and subcontractors, and equipped it with the latest in death-dealing technology. And you know what would have happened? It wouldn't have worked. They'd forget about all our interdictors or that Sovereign we have left over, or some other mistake, and a hotshot hypervelocity projectile would blow the whole thing up. Now that's what the New Republic would have done.

Yup, both Death Stars left a Plot Hole open that led to their destruction.

A one manned fighter destroyed a space station the size of a moon all because of a 2 metre hole and the only thing the pilot killed before that was wamp rats.

Well, it's never actually stated in a movie what a womp rat is.
What if they're two meter wide beasts of absolute destruction, more dangerous than every beast on Dxun put together, combing the sands of Tatooine for whatever survives its terrible scourge, and Luke was the only T-16 pilot keeping them from destroying Alderaan?

Actually luke said in the briefing that womp rats were 2 metres in size which was the same as the thermal exhaust port.

Note that we don't know what it is, just that it's 2 meters in size.

Actually, womp rats featured in one of the Junior Jedi Knight Books. Anakin Solo and Tahiri Veila, 11 and 9 years old respectively, were left to wander Tatooine by themselves and make it back to camp alive as a Sand Raider initiation rite.

The womp rats there were basically packs of rabid dogs, with the same approximate threat level.
