We've added a wave counter to the post-battle summary of Survival mode, so this is the thread to brag about how far you've made it once we release the mod. Just post a screenshot of your summary and compare it to everyone else's to judge your worth as a human being! (Or just post the number without a screenshot, but then we may not believe you)
To get everyone started, here's mine (http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/8/7376/swfoc_2013-12-27_23-59-04-73.png) as the Empire of the Hand! Try to beat it!
I may try to organize some sort of competition for this after we get any bugs worked out/I think of a decent prize/timeframe. Other than that, hope you enjoy it.
-
Aww yea
-
I knew you were bad at survival but I didn't realise you were that bad.
-
I'm quite rusty in ICW but I belive that I won't be the best, but we can hope isn't it? Just got to wave 5 with remmnant, as soon as I can I'll upload a picture of it.
-
Well, that puts you in first so far. Good work!
-
Just dethroned you, Eclipse. Six waves as Remnant, and I have some ideas about how to get further (I need a more balanced, frigate-focused fleet - the rebels didn't beat me, they just ran right past. You've GOT to engage them before they get to your space station and take them out in small groups)
-
Well like a year ago, I can say that I've upgraded my computer, but I still have to reinstall the game, hopefully I'll be able to at least reach wave six hahaha, took me a long while but I hope to be back in the forums :D
-
Got to wave 9, lost on 10 as new repubolic :)
I'll post a screenshot when I figure out how to do so :D
-
Only got to Wave 8 :(
-
My advice: Nebula star destroyers. I eventually lost to fighters haha.
-
so use a mix of Nebula and Endurance? or Nebula with Nebulons, CR90s, and Quasers? or the new Dauntless
-
Don't want to use a ton of Endurances because they're so expensive population point-wise.
-
i was think 1-2 at a time
-
Endurance is practically useless in 2.1 though. since they give 2 E-wings and 2 K-wings for 7 supply and are practically useless in combat.
New Republic
Nebula Destroyers and whatever anti fighter ships you find preferable.
Imperial Remnant
My most successful strategy so far;
3 ISD-IIs, 2 Tectors, 6 Venators and whatever you feel like that takes 2 population. The Venator fighter cloud takes care of any enemy fighters while the destroyers kill any capital ships.
Empire of the Hand
Not yet tested

Imperial Remnant
Haven't worked out a strategy
Empire of the Hand
Same as the Imperial Remnant
Endurances may only give out 2 E and 2 K wings at a time, but carry a total of 6 E and 5 K.
-
Yes, But they are not worth the population cost of 1,75 per squadron.
-
Correction. That's 1.75 squadron per population point, not the other way around. (6+5)/7 squadrons/population points.
-
No, because I am talking about EFFECTIVE squadron count, which is 4. Every other carrier releases its population value or more in squadrons at a time, while the endurance does not.
-
Mind you we're talking about E-Wings and K-Wings here, not TIEs and Xs and Ys. Hence the slow release.
-
I know, but it's still a sad supply waste as the endurance and the nebula is the ONLY availiable source of K-wings in the game.
-
Completed Wave 9 as EotH. The lack of fighters in my Phalanx - Warlord - Vigilance force was a critical flaw when the Venator-Praetor waves arrived. I avoided fighters against the early Carrack-Lancer waves for obvious reasons, but then I didn't have enough cash left to round out enough fleets to defend all angles later on. The switch by the AI to one huge fleet really exposed how unbalanced I was.

Any suggestions for survival with the new republic, or any other classes for that matter? Thanks in advance guys!

Hi-
When building ships in survival mode, the ai says "upgrade complete" but no ship spawns. Is this a known bug, and if so, whats the fix?
Thanks

Ships you purchase in Survival will go into the reinforcements pool, but you can only bring them into battle between attack waves.
-
Thanks for the reply! It didn't seem to be working that way before, but perhaps I wasn't giving it enough time between waves.
Thanks again!

I've had a handful of problems with Survival mode.. Be nice to see how it runs in 2.2. Took me awhile to even figure out HOW to play survival mode.
But I really love the GC where you start with 1 planet and work outward. Def one of my favorite game modes! :D

I got to wave 8 as the EoTH. My advice is to use 1-2 Kariek Cruisers, various Anti-Fighter Support ships, 2 Bu'Dierch Frigates, 1-2 Warlord-Class Gunships, 1 Ascendancy-Class Star Destroyer, and 1 Phalanx-Class Destroyer (And maybe 1 Syndic-Class Destroyer). I was killed by Fighters, which would've been destroyed if I overcharged the weapons on one of the Bu'Dierch's and destroyed the last Acclamator's last subsystem in time. But I had fun and spent my credits wisely!

I got through 8 waves as the Imperial Remnant. Wave Nine took me down. I utilized a number of ISD IIs, at least one Venator, and a bunch of Lancer Frigates, plus the ISDs that were auto-given to me, and the default starting forces.
