Title: Infantry Attacks by Erwin Rommel
Post by: Augustus Lucius Flavius on December 18, 2013, 02:35:55 PM
I am reading Rommel's book right now and am confounded by the stupidity of the French. In chapter four while the French were in a great defensive position and had Rommel's unit pinned down. However, instead of holding their ground the French ran away! This is not the first time the did this. During the initial invasion, French units were surrendering to German units much smaller than their own. In one case Rommel's company captured a battalion of French holed up in a town after a short fight. I am wondering if anyone has a reason for the French stupidity.

Because they're cheese eating surrender monkeys and they do what comes naturally.
