Sup everyone :). I just wanted to ask the TR Community What their favorite/least favorite heroes. I am mostly doing this to benefit my maps, but I hope others can benefit from this as well.
-
Favorite: Gregor Raquoran. Because he makes it so I can build things as my beloved PA early in the game when I have no moneys.
Least Favorite: Any NR jedi. They move like cracked up squirrels that they run in and destroy half your units before you even see them they're so freaking fast. And take forever to kill.
-
Favourite: Palpatine - Dat superlaser
Least Favourite: Erisi Dilarit/Turr Phennir/Maarek Steele/Rogue Squadron - WHY DO YOU KEEP DYING!?
-
Fav is Jerec, because when he warps in with the fleet he is a free SSD in population, not counting in the initial deployment (is that intentional?) It means that you can't autoresolve though.
Least favorite is Covell. He doesn't carry troops, and dies faster when you use his ability.
-
Hm, tough call.
I guess I'll have to go with either Jerec or Cronus.
-
Baron Soontir Fel
Who needs capital ships? I've got enough pointy starfighters for everyone!
Plus he's one of the cooler characters of the era. I only wish he was available for the Imperial 181st, but Isard DID hate him...
-
Have to say honorable mention goes to Warlord Zsinj. Always liked him for some reason.
-
I don't really like the fighter squads either, they die too easy, even if the individual hero himself doesn't die,(I'm guessing) if half the squadron is killed, he dies. Kind of like Luke in EaW. If Luke lives but the rest of the squad dies, Luke dies :(.
I'm also kind of surprised that no one has mentioned Pelleaon! I'm not a huge Pelleaon fan, but I thought he was popular.
My favorite heroes though are Luke, Palpatine, and Joruus, mainly cause Luke and Palpatine are my two favorite movie characters and Joruus because his voice acting is just so amazing :D
-
I like Pellaeon but in game he is just too fragile like Thrawn is. It seems the ISD heroes are just weaker than normal ones

Yup. I'd say he's weaker than Thrawn.
If we were to do favorites in the SW Universe instead of ingame, my choices would be completely different. But in game, many of my favorite individuals aren't really all that powerful.
-
Yes,though luckily a fair amount of my fan favs are hard hitters(Kaine, Jerec, Zsinj, Delvardus)
-
favourites:
-Issard from from the empire
You can kick everything in your way in early game with her. With a suitabble task force you can destroy the EOTH in the 1st era(from planet to planet)...
-Jerec and Ardus from the Pentastar Alignment
Same reason
-Uwlla Iillor from the New republic
She has the ability to stop the retreating enemy wich is special in the NR(i have to admit i doeson't realy played much with NR)
-Hand of Judgement from the Empire of the Hand
They are very efective, and it's fun to play with them.
least favorites:
-Maximilian Veers from the empire
Easy to get him killed...
-Octavian Grant from PA
Useful, but he still the most useless in the PA heroes, wich comes from the small number of heroes this fraction have.
-Kyle Katarn from the NR
in ground very efective, but i hate when an enemy fleet attacks him, before i can plant him.
it's too easy to lose him in space
-Soontir Fel from the EotH
Easy to get him overwhelmed by enemies

I think that Xizer will disagree a LOT in that one XD
-
and Joruus because his voice acting is just so amazing :D
I had a lot of fun doing his VO, glad you enjoyed it.

Well I DO like Lusankya, just can't stand Isard herself

Of course, we all like a SSD, I mean who could reject one? . It was you the one who voiced Joruus? I imagine you had to edit a lot that VO right?

Indeed, SSDs are quite lovely ships.
Yes I did Joruus, Jerec, Kaine, Delvardus, Parrk, Harrsk, Krennal, Thrawn, Phennir, Teradoc, Praetor, Imp Escort Carrier, Hailfire, Muunificent, Brakiss, Vermel, Zsinj, Melvar and Palpatine. There were a few others that didn't make it to the final draft but I'm pretty happy with the ones that did and it was a ton of fun.
Joruus actually was pretty low on editing, just added a Cathedral sound effect(for the echo) since that was described in the books to my impression of a VERY arrogant old guy lol.
Teradoc and Harrsk though, I did edit a lot to make them each sound different(though harrsk was originally supposed to have a high voice since he was little in the book) Teradoc's voice was inspired by TeamFourStar's Guru VO and I was in a joking mood since I'm very skinny and he's very fat lol.

Oh wow, that's quite a lot of VOs
I'd volunteer, but I doubt my mic or software are up to the task. I could give it a shot if there are VOs still required, though.
-
you can count on me too.
and what i said is true.
i had a game where with the Lusankya and her task force i cleared the whole galaxy from everithing else...
the whole galaxy was mine except Byss...
that was the game what can't be finished....
-
Wouw, amazing, I always tought that at least 5-6 different people did those VO. By the way I love the VO for the scort carrier, the preator and Delvardus

Thanks, I really enjoyed those. I wanted to make them sound very menacing and I actually liked Delvardus a bit since when faced with certain death he didn't grovel or try and escape he tried to murder his killers lol, I can respect that.
-
So far out of the ones I've heard I love them all. My favorite VO's so far are probably the Praetor, Munificent, Thrawn, and Phennir. I love Zsinj's VO (I'll feast on steak lol), but the volume for his VO is really low.
Anyways as to favorite and least favorite:
Pentastar Alignment

I'm not sure why Zsinj's came out so low. Might have been in transfer. But it was loud when I made it.

Wow, I had an entire four paragraphs scripted out and it cut it off...guess I'll just have to put it up all over again.
Pentastar Alignment: Kain and Gregor are my favorite. Grant is good, but is more effective later in the game when you have several assault fleets moving at once (Kaine in one, Jerec in another, Praetor + Grant in a third) but in the early game I tend to use Venators and Acclamators more. Jerec is in so e ways my least favorite. Don't get me wrong, I love him and always use him, but he has the autoresolve value of a troop transport. This becomes tiresome when I don't want to spend the five minutes to destroy a barely defended planet (I'd much rather autoresolve). Jerec forces me to do the former or I'll lose him.
EotH: Favorites at Siath (because he's in a Phalanx) and Parck (VSD with PTW and PTS? yes please). Least favorite is Niriz. Both of the ground heroes are cool, so no real favorite here.
New Republic: Never played as them, but here's what I would hazard to guess. For space, probably Wedge, Eating A'Boat, and Ackbar would be my favorite. My least favorite is Han and Chewie (just a little too fragile to be used in many situations). Any Jedi unit would be fine, my least favorite would probably be Lando.
Imperial Remnant: Saving the best for last! My favorite Space Heroes would be anyone in an SSD, Maarek Stele, and Colonel Cronus (because he lets you build Crimson Command VSDs). Least favorite would be Ferrier and Vermel. Ground favorites would be any Dark Jedi/Sith, but I find all the Ground Heroes to be useful.
-
Poor Lando get's no love. I find him useful at least.
-
Han? Too fragile? The Millennium Falcon can chew through an entire Executor's fighter complement with ease, used correctly. It's just a matter of timing his invulnerability ability well, sort of like Luke and his Force Cloak - done right, you can do a ton of damage without anyone ever getting through to you. On the ground he can be equally useful although he has more trouble - unlike Luke, he doesn't have an easy 'Run back to the bacta' ability combo (Force Cloak + Sprint)
Plus he's a stealth hero which is a great advantage for the rebels.
Anyways, I think I mentioned, my favorite is probably Fel. People deride the fighter heroes as worthless but proper use of fighter/bomber spam is still quite powerful and Fel excels at it. It's a lot cheaper than Phalanx spam, too.

It could just be because whenever I see him I just make all my fighters focus on him and overwhelm him. 32 D-types take him out without him being able to eliminate a single squadron or use Invulnerability more than once. Luke in his X-wing on the other hand, eliminate three squads before I had his shields halfway down, then speedboated away to rejuvenate and returned (this time I finally killed him. The Falcon just doesn't last under concentrated firepower.
-
That's why he has to have some back up
-
I once had my entire fleet pummeling the Millennium Falcon, it took around 5 minutes for it to finally die.
-
I seldom have any trouble dealing with the Falcon, it's Wedge and Ackbar that enjoy my ire
-
my fav is is Lusankyal attack anywhere no matter what you-resolve a couple times and bam new imp planet.
least fav lando whenever I play rebels he dies when ever i don't he runs away
-

>Ackbar
Oh boy
Home One is a monster in the early eras. Without several capital ships, you might as well forget about it - his shields just won't die, so your bombers never get to have any fun. Just constantly, constantly recharging... I did manage to kill him in Reunification by luring him over a double-High Velocity Cannon planet. The Galactic Voyager's shields aren't much help in that scenario.
You'd think he would have noticed that it was a trap.
-
For supposedly being the Rebel's greatest strategic Admiral he doesn't have a great track record if you really look at it.
Ambushed at Endor, Ambushed at Bilbringi, Ambushed at Ciutric, constantly routed in Shadow Hand, nearly killed over Yavin by Daala, and beaten by Pellaeon a few times.
In all these instances luck or other players managed to save the situation from utter disaster, yet he gets credit. Personally I found him to be an average commander at best with the likes of Etahn, Iblis and Antilles being FAR more capable.

Yes. In either the books or the games Wedge is most likely to win against my imperial forces.
-
Yeah, but I can't help but Love Wedge. I might be Imperial but I do have a soft spot for the Rogues and Wraiths of old.
-
Yeah you gotta love em. :)
-
Indeed
-
Ah, Ackbar, he ran right into a Hyper-velocity cannon with me. Once again, he fell for a trap.
I've kind of stayed away from heroes myself much; their rather permanent deaths make them pretty big risks to throw into the fight (especially fighter pilot heroes). Besides, I can't have characters I like in the canon die senseless deaths fighting 25 Quasars.
-
I usually split my heroes into the two or three main chokepoints of my territory, move all my inner forces into these fleets and presto! I can begin the attack in several directions at once. Usually this consists of the leader (plus maybe one other hero) in the SSD in one fleet and everybody else in another fleet that includes an SSD once I am able to build it. As to fighter heroes, they are great if you are on the offensive but terrible if you are being attacked.
-
I try and relive canon battles as much as possible, like Selagis, Dathomir, Anx Minor and such. I normally give those systems the forces they had canonically and lure the AI to attack me there.

Me: I'm ready for that battle over Anx Minor!
AI: You mean the corvette fleet to end all corvette fleets?
Me: Sigh. Alright, I'll shoot down all your corvettes.

Yeah that's why I hope in the future more multiplayer GCs will be open

My favourite is Palpatine - best for hit and run, if necessary plus a very high discount on construction of ships/buildings
least favourite by now: - all Fighterheroes - they simply die to fast

Me too :)
