Probably the last screenshot before we start the beta.

Rotating turrets yes?
-
Rotating turrets of doom, yeah.
-
Very nice, it will add more defensive options for the EotH. And it will be a pain to destroy these as the IR or PA. That's the Vigilance Ingame too; very nice looking.
-
So are they essentially less poweful hypervelocity guns in space those tri-megamasers?
-
That's the effect, essentially.
-
This I like
-
So much doom, so little time.
-
any screenshots of it firing?
-
Looks like the rebels will now have good reason to keep their prying noses out of Chiss space.
-
Indeed
-
Nothing ever stops them from keeping their noses where they belong.
-
well if you can build up to 5 on a planet well that might but two should be enough to keep a preator 2 away perhaps considering the pentastar alligniment is next to them i think they are good hmm
-
Woot!!! I come home from a Deployment to see new goodies coming soon!!! :HA:

Welcome back to the fun
-
Thank you! Looking forward to it :D
-
So much new stuff
-
Do the cannons have a 360 degree firing radius? Or is it just going to be 180?
-
Probably 180 since there are 4 so they can cover all angles and two of them are supposed to equal a HypVelGun so only two at a time should crossfire.
-
The hypervelocity thing is a little of an exageration depending on how you account for frequency of fire, distribution, etc. The main point is that these turrets are far more powerful than any other weapons, but they're not quite at that level. They're not quite the same impact level as an HV gun, but that's to allow for corrections on autofire via firing recharge rate without having to make sacrifices for damage to make up for the fact that the HV gun is always targeted. The actual power level will fluctuate a lot over the beta phase.

Very formidable lookin' satellite you got there. On the topic of hypervelocity guns, have they ever appeared in any non-EAW source or did Petroglyph just pull them out of their hat? I've always wondered about them... Seems like they would throw a monkey wrench into the established canon.
-
They were referenced in a single book before Pety ever created them. That's just the most recognizable, since the book was from the Black Fleet Crisis books, which I personally didn't find very interesting.

They were first mentioned in a book...Before the Storm I think, so they weren't quite out of thin air.
Oops, seems like Miller was already on the case! hah
-
I'm fine with them making new stuff. Everything in SW came from somewhere. What I don't like is when the new stuff doesn't fit or isn't necessary.
I mean, we created the entirety of the EotH.
-
So can all 4 guns fire on one target?
-
No, the station can't shoot through itself which would be necessary for all four to hit the same thing.

They could all probably hit an Executor/Viscount on a full broadside. Maybe. Probably not. A little.

Ah I see
