Thrawn's Revenge

Okay, before you say anything I have accounted for all the possibilities. Steam vs CD (which is fixed via the official RAM+MP LOBBY update at http://www.lucasarts.com/support/update/EAWFOC1_1.html), Desura vs Install, and Hotfixes correctly installed and what not.
Multiplayer in Thrawns Revenge is a complete Crapshot. In about a dozen people only 2 of them weren't version mismatched. I have played Rise of the Mandalorians and vanilla FoC just fine with someone with steam but we always get a version mismatch with Thrawn's Revenge. There is also the fact people are able to do an overly complicated Republic at War install and we can play against each other there but Thrawns Revenge? Not happening. I just don't understand whats up. Thrawns Revenge is literally the only mod that does this. Anyone have any ideas about what's going on?
P.S. Final FoC version should be 1.01.58931 for both Steam and CD.

Did you all use the same download for the mod, and all do the same thing with the maps (whether you moved them to custom maps or not, and whether you left them in the maps folder afterwards)?
-
Well I copy pasted into the Custom maps folder myself but that shouldn't matter if they never touched it, people doing fresh installs and yet unable to connect to each other is the main problem really.
-
RAM Fixes and cleaners for everyone?

(19:08:55) Multiplayer: no, just have a secound FoC install for it, what i tell people to do. Works fine that way
(19:09:40) Multiplayer: Infact FoC doesn\'t have the Copy protection stuff so u can copy and paste it into another folder just fine, no reinstalling
copy+paste from shoutbox
EDIT: don't change your entire comment just because you asked in shoutbox, just edit it mate. and yes, I had them type their version number just to be safe.

That would depend on what the game expects to be where. The first thing to try would be to cut and paste all of the skirmish maps (as opposed to copy and paste) and put them into the default custom maps folder.
-
Okay I will try that.
-
Let me know what happens. This is something I'm still working on trying to streamline, since within the team there's not really much online testing we can do.
-
Welp, I had two other people but one kept going AFK so only one ended up doing it and we still can't connect.
-
Did you both download the mod from the same place (like, both have the same exe or rar, and not have one with rar and one with installer)
-
Well I am not sure about rar vs exe but I told most people to get the 2.0 (Installer) and then both hotfixes, I got it from Desurah which has hotfix one already but not two so i had to get that. I know that desurah and installe are compatible though because one of the two people I played with said they got the installer and we were able to play fine (although GC froze up when 3 attacks happened nearly simultaneously)
-
Okay I got the other person to do it (who got it via desurah) and that didn't work either :/
-
I am redownloading TR right now. I can test it with you. I have the Gold Edition.
-
and Ram fix correct?
-
I've only just reinstalled FoC I can get the RAM fix if needed.
-
You'll need the ram fix. Not having it can cause a version mismatch Rovert.
-
Even if moving maps out of the folder art folder worked, you would end up unable to play GC unless you moved them back anyways.
-
Not ALL maps, just the Skirmish maps.
