Title: Yuuzhan Vong
Post by: Meyer on August 23, 2007, 12:12:30 PM
Would you like to know more about Yuuzhan Vong and their journey between galaxies? And how about more info of individuals?

Yes, I would like to know about the war in their galaxy.

We've already had 19+ books about them, cant we just leave it at that ??

It would be interesting.

but Yuuzhan Vong have always been secondary characters. I would like to read a book where they are main characters. the Cremlevian war and their journey through galaxies. I would read those books.

and we have had many books of Leia, Han and Luke. why not kill them all now?

Because there are symbols of Star Wars. And they already killed Chewie. :'(

I hate the Vong!

Sure, I think the story of the Vong isn't over. They do need to resolve the many issues relating to their culture along with Zonama Sekot.

Big fan of NJO :)

I think that the vong will destroy the empire in Legacy.

once again there is that "I hate vong" thing.

And I too like the NJO series, the best SW books after Zahn.

And Vong have some similarities to Christianity. YV viewed their conguest of the Galaxy as a crusade and that the galaxy must be ourged from infidels. Christian church used that same reason to launch crusades to middle-east to conguer cities. And especially the "holy land", Jerusalem. the galaxy of SW is the jerusalem of YV, at least they think so. as did many christian that they had the right to conguer it just beause of religion.

Seriously, dont compare the Vong to any religion, You can take any religion and relate it to the Vong, all of which are bad ideas

I don't see how you can compare buddism to YVs. And it is true. there are similarities with YV conguest and christianitys crusades.
Title: Re: Yuuzhan Vong
Post by: Scarecrow63 on August 24, 2007, 04:30:47 PM
sure you can, i just dont really know anything about buddism

Title: Re: Yuuzhan Vong
Post by: Meyer on August 24, 2007, 05:47:46 PM
well they don't believe that crusades are a good thing and they don't believe that there is a
god(s).

Okay, so one religion isnt like the Vong that i know of, i doubt you'll find another
Title: Re: Yuuzhan Vong
Post by: Meyer on August 25, 2007, 02:23:41 AM
hinduism. they say that nothing living should be harmed. And they haven't got crusades either.
Title: Re: Yuuzhan Vong

Just to let you know there are differences between the Crusades and YVW. True Christians no longer sanction the Crusades. And all the true Christians would not sanction another one. The Christians were told that if they went on the Crusades they would go to Heaven. Ill think of more.

yes. and even the YV won't worship their gods after the defeat. so let's say than in the past of christianity and YV there has been similarities.

Kama in hinduism can be related to the Vongs whole pain thing
Artha can be related to getting higher in Vong society and despising Shamed Ones
Dharma can be related to the Vong following therules set forth by the priests and gods and such
Hinduism also has a caste system very similar to Vong society
Title: Re: Yuuzhan Vong
Post by: Meyer on August 25, 2007, 01:04:59 PM
but vong had no problem killing and slaving other beings. Hinduism doesn't approve it, at least as far as I know.

Not for fun, but for punishment sure, you didnt see the Vong doing it for punishemnt, that would probably have been heresy
Title: Re: Yuuzhan Vong
Post by: Meyer on August 27, 2007, 12:32:54 AM
but it was a punishment. they had to make sacrifices from their flesh to gods.
Title: Re: Yuuzhan Vong
Post by: Scarecrow63 on August 27, 2007, 12:36:58 AM
I think you have Vong philosophy way wrong, the Vong considered sacrificing parts of themselves and themselves a great honor privilege and duty, not punishment
Title: Re: Yuuzhan Vong
Post by: Meyer on August 27, 2007, 08:21:55 AM
duty and honor yes I know that. but it was also the prise they had to pay to the gods.
Title: Re: Yuuzhan Vong
Post by: Scarecrow63 on August 27, 2007, 01:38:26 PM

Title: Re: Yuuzhan Vong
Post by: Scarecrow63 on September 26, 2007, 07:07:47 PM
It'd be nice to have a ship that could heal itself
Title: Re: Yuuzhan Vong
Post by: GrndAdmrlPellaeon on September 26, 2007, 09:43:57 PM
It'd also be nice to have ship that didn't need healing.
Title: Re: Yuuzhan Vong
Post by: Meyer on September 27, 2007, 01:12:32 AM
well then it would need to be repaired. and it's much easier for a ship to heal than to be repaired I think.
Title: Re: Yuuzhan Vong
Post by: Slornie on September 27, 2007, 07:55:51 AM
But with living ships/equipment, they grow old/die, or can become ill/weak.. Depending on their sentiency, they could even refuse to obey commands that they associate with pain..
Title: Re: Yuuzhan Vong
Post by: Meyer on September 27, 2007, 08:36:14 AM
well mechancal ships won't last forever either.
Title: Re: Yuuzhan Vong
