If clawcraft counts....
-
Uhh, I dont think it does.
I cant decide between Defender and Interceptor.
-
Then id probably go with the phantom
-
I reset it so you could vote for Phantom.
-
Defenders rock!
-
Seems like an odd tie name though, i mean the empire liked fearsome names, and then they came up with 'defender'
-
I like the phantom because it is sneaky.

I like to think that it might indicate a shift in imperial philosophy.
-
I cant decide between Defender and Interceptor.
Deciding between those two is hard for me too. but I think Defender is my choise.
-
the tie hunter
(http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l69/death11147/star%20wars/TIEHunter.jpg)
-
Where did you find that?
-
I think its from the x-wing: Rogue Squadron
-
I meant the picture, and never mind, I found it on google.
-
Yeah, its from that Rouge Squadron game. Its for Gamecube.
-
Which by the way is amazing
-
It was a pretty good game.
-
haven't played althought I have wanted to.
-
Its like the second one except it has missions when your a person. It also has multiplayer and co-op, in which you play the missions from the second one.
-
i wa shtinking of buying a gamecube just for that game
-
Ill sell you mine!
But if i were you, id get the wii, u can play gamecube games on the wii too
-
i dont wanna buy a wii
-
Why not? All the good games for it are coming out soon. ;D
-
And it is a waste to get a gamecube. A wii only costs $250, so it is the cheapest next gen counsel.
-
I got a Gamecube a long while ago. I always liked my PS2 better though.
-
well my PS2 broke down. have to buy the new one propably.
-
i had a ps2 for along time
then igot a game cube although i was disapointed with the nuumber of games
Then i got an x box and i love it
im gonna get a 360 for christmas
-
gamecube was popular for a short time. after that it was just forgotten.
-
i think it had good grapic for such a small system But it was the only platform whith residen evil 4 for a time but it also had a lot of the old nintindo favorites like mario party
-
yep. but now back to TIEs.
-
well i still kinda klike the good old eyeball
-
TIE Interceptor and TIE Defender are my favourites.
-
i always tough the tie defender was kind weird lookin i like the Chiss claw craft
-
chiss clawcraft is one of the best fighters.
-
of course they can slaughter most fighters
-
especially with good pilot on control.
-
was not the chiss clawcraft a tie hybrid?
-
note that tie hybrid its still a tie
Upista
-
I did not include the Clawcraft because it is not an Imperial produced fighter.
-
still technicy a tie
-
it's EotH produced fighter.
-
But technically a part of the tie series, its more of a relative
-
well it has only the TIE cockpit as a same. those wings are totally new design.
-
If somethinf has a tie cockpit you automatically assume it is a new tie design.(or clawcraft) It is like the signature feature of a tie.
-
So an "ugly" with a TIE cockpit attached to X-Wing S-Foils or a Y-Wing fuselage is a new TIE design?
-
I guess so, you drop a Chevy crate engine in a mustang and its still considered a Ford, so the same applies here.
-
I've always found that Ugly pretty odd. Doesn't eliminating the X-Wing cockpit and the TIE Wings leave it without any sort of power source? Thats pretty useless.
I like the Interceptors best.
-
i think they keep the engines
-
The TIE Fighter got power from solar panels, and the X-Wing power source was in the fuselage, both of which were taken out, and theres nowhere else on the design a power source could be kept.
-
but aren't they built as tie solar panels attached to x-wing hull?
-
i dunno
-
Well, they obviously figured some way to make it work
-
I would never use Ugly as my fighter.
-
I doubt anyone would pick them if they had the choice
-
actually whith the right skills you couldmake an ugly better than the original
-
An ugly cant be better than the origional, there is no origional
-
An original is a tie fighter and i think they are evenly matched except Y-TIE uglies have hyperdrive engines and turrets but are very unmaneuvable so its hyperdrive and ion cannon vs very good maneuverability
-
When did the ugly first appear?
-
in a book whith pirates
-
pirates can't afford to build or buy top quality fighters, like X-wing and Tie Defender. so they buy cheap and propably broken ships and rebuild them to work.
-
and a good mechanic can rework it into a suppior ship
-
It would take more than good mechanic, more like an uber 1337 mechanic, to take parts of other fighters and put them together to make it better
-
yep. It is a hard job for two entirely different fighter designs.
-
i dont htink it woul take that many its just the act of getting it right trial and error and CASH
-
the panels on the TIE don't generate its power, its not possible to get the kind of energy they need to preform as they do just from sunlight, and even if they did then they wouldn't be able to operate in deep space. the panels are radiators for the TIE's reactor, just as the S-foils are for the X-wing.
-
The panels on the TIEs do generate power, I quote:
All TIE series starfighters had two or more ion engine outlets, linked to a solar ionization reactor and solar array wings.
-
solar array wings idea is that they generate power and are lighter and cheaper than onboard generator.
-
And makes it so that they tie engine has no moving parts
-
yes. lighter, cheaper, and weaker.
-
I wouldnt say weaker, the engine itself was perfectly fine, it was just the surrounding tie that was weak
-
one good part isn't able to compensate dozens of bad parts.
