Title: Are we alone?
Post by: Meyer on July 26, 2007, 02:42:10 AM
Do you believe in UFOs? Do you believe that somewhere in the Universe the is otherkind of life?
I do.

I dont. all the UFO sightings have been fake.

other life yes, UFO's no

This is bs. What there is no other life. Its just us. But I do beleive that one day the USA will span across the galaxy.

The USA? Or humans in general? The United States of America will not be around forever.

There must be other life in this galaxy. They have even discovered other relatively close Earth-like planets in the Milky Way. I doubt they've come here though, they're mostly seen by a bunch of drunk hicks.

Yeah, I would say that there is other life, but I doubt that it has traveled to here.

I doubt that inter-galactic travel is possible, so the odds of us running into other life are very slim.

What? Its your own political party that is destroying America. You hate the religion that started this country but you praise the one that wants to destroy it. You want to take people property.
Title: Re: Are we alone?

I believe thereis other life somewhere in the Universe and propably even in our own galaxy. But I doubt that aliens would have visited us.
Title: Re: Are we alone?

i say theres other life out there
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Zeron on July 26, 2007, 02:58:37 PM
Defiantly other life. I doubt we'll ever see them though, theres billions of stars in the galaxy and i doubt the human race is going to live long enough to visit them all.
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Scarecrow63 on July 26, 2007, 03:47:40 PM
The human race will, we just wont

What the hell are you talking about? I do not have a political party. I dislike both the Liberal and Conservative parties, and the NDP is just useless. What is 'this country' exactly? I don't hate or praise religions, and I sure as hell do not want to 'take people property'.

The states has an enormous debt, ongoing internal struggle and a boatload of other problems. The reality is unless they fix these problems, the states are not going to be around very long.
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Scarecrow63 on July 26, 2007, 11:31:31 PM
I doubt the "internal struggle" and debt will take down the US

If you look at the universe though, its a big place, i find it hard to believe that Earth is the only place with life
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Corey on July 26, 2007, 11:39:12 PM
Granted, but it certainly won't help. It's not like the rest of the world is in love with it either. I'm not saying it will be soon or anything, just that it won't last forever.
Title: Re: Are we alone?

Then we nuke everyone so we dont have to worry about it
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Corey on July 26, 2007, 11:42:45 PM
I somehow think that some people would take offense to that. and it would completely ruin the world, which includes that oil the American Gov't loves so much.

Anywho, this isn't the place to debate American longevity...
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Scarecrow63 on July 26, 2007, 11:44:45 PM
Yeah, back to the topic

I just wonder when we will be able to travel past our solar system with humans, i look at movies like 2001: A Space Odysey, and see how bad they predict how far we'll be in the future

i believe in aliens theirs gotta be somethin out there
Title: Re: Are we alone?

I believe that UFOs exist.  UFO means Unidentified Flying Object.  It doesn't mean that an object is an alien.  Most of the sightings in Nevada were the secret, spyplanes.  It is possible that there is other life, but why would they visit Earth if they could?  Why study us, when they could rule us??
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Scarecrow63 on August 13, 2007, 01:31:46 PM
Because not all aliens are like the movies
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Meyer on August 15, 2007, 08:41:09 AM
Aliens wouldn't care about us.
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Kratas on August 15, 2007, 11:09:05 AM
what makes you think that
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Meyer on August 15, 2007, 12:01:05 PM
well if they can travel throught space why should they bother to reveal themselves to us who have just visited the moon if even that.
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Corey on August 15, 2007, 12:40:53 PM
Just because there might be aliens doesn't mean they're capable of spaceflight. There just has to be a group of sentient life forms on other planets.
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Noret on August 15, 2007, 12:50:52 PM
not even sentient to be conidered alien
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Meyer on August 15, 2007, 01:00:32 PM
but if they would find Earth they would have to have space ships capable of great distances and speeds.
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Noret on August 15, 2007, 01:06:24 PM
how do we know that?, they could of come from the moon
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Corey on August 15, 2007, 01:06:39 PM
They wouldn't have to find Earth to exist. There may be some extremely advanced galaxy-spanning civilization out there right now, or there could be some guy just discovering fire. Or, though extremely unlikely, there is nothing out there whatsoever.
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Scarecrow63 on August 15, 2007, 01:50:33 PM
And the universe is a really big place, for a civilization to find us theyd either of have to have mapped everything else out or just get amazingly lucky
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Meyer on August 15, 2007, 02:06:24 PM
and I think it would be more propable to win in lotto. Human should travel to moon and set a base there.
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Kratas on August 15, 2007, 03:22:32 PM
theyve already planned that  and apparaently it would cost ovrt a trillion dollars and pounds
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Meyer on August 16, 2007, 01:03:29 AM
in other words it is impossible in todays technology.
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Scarecrow63 on August 16, 2007, 12:38:58 PM
No, its not impossible, just to impractical
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Meyer on August 16, 2007, 01:03:01 PM
that is better word. but I hope they settle there someday. but I doubt it will happen in my lifetime.
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Scarecrow63 on August 16, 2007, 10:18:37 PM
Never know, theres already commercial space flights, space hotels and moon bases are next
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: sarcronis on August 16, 2007, 10:48:24 PM
NASA already has designs for some.
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Meyer on August 17, 2007, 05:47:25 AM
but remember that design is different from what will they do.
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Scarecrow63 on August 18, 2007, 03:22:12 AM
I doubt NASA will be the one to do it, probably some private company
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Meyer on August 18, 2007, 05:12:23 AM
No. All space agencies, NASA, ESA and russians and how ever there are. I mean russia is the only country to have space station on the rbit or at least have had.
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Scarecrow63 on August 18, 2007, 04:16:51 PM
Americas had space stations

But space agencies just arent pro-active enough to do it, especially NASA with all the problems they've been having
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Meyer on August 18, 2007, 05:11:21 PM
does USA have space stations? I have never heard of them.
Title: Re: Are we alone?

Sure, Skylab
Title: Re: Are we alone?

but isn't it just a telescope? an automated one.
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Scarecrow63 on August 18, 2007, 05:14:20 PM
No, people went there. and the ISS was origionally going to be the US space station Freedom, but then we decided to let other people join in
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Meyer on August 18, 2007, 05:16:45 PM
in other words you didn't want to spend so much of your own money but took a few buddies to finance it. which is very wise in my opinion. Why do it alone when some idiots are willing to help you.
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Scarecrow63 on August 18, 2007, 05:17:49 PM
Exactly, and it got countries to be nicer to each other, no longer a competition in space

not really
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: sarcronis on August 21, 2007, 10:50:31 AM
it depends on what kind of war.
Title: Re: Are we alone?
Post by: Meyer on August 21, 2007, 11:29:56 AM
in war it's kill or be killed. in peace it's is more difficult.
