So the question is; if you lived in the Star Wars universe what would you want your personal ship to be, and why? By personal ship I mean a ship that you could fly by yourself, but that you could also bring people and cargo along, in other words a Millennium Falcon or Slave I like ship, but not a capital ship or one man starfighter.
Edit: OK lets make it more than just a transport, what would be your personnel Capital ship, Transport, and Fighter, and why?
-
I think that my ship would be a Vengeance class SSD. It's size and shape are designed to inspire fear to the enemy. Wich in other words would work as a military weapon and a psicological one to prove that no matter what the rebel scum does we will always crush'em.
-
Not a bad ship, and I love that they expounded on it in The Essential Guide to warfare, but I think you missed where I said a ship you can fly by yourself, generally capital ships especially SSDs require large crews.
-
Ups. Sorry you are right I missed that part. So I think I'll choose from Sienar Fleet Systems the T.I.E. Defender. By far one (for not saying the best) imperial fighter. It has shields and hyperdrive and extremley well armed.
-
Yeah, forced to choose above a single man fighter but still crewable by a single person doesn't leave many that I like. IN fact, it leaves exactly one ship I like. Seinar Fleet Systems Gat-12 Skipray Blastboat.
Getting into fighters I'd take a Tie Avenger.
Full on ships, either a Venator or a Praetor-II.
-
Yeah I think I might go for the Skipray Blastboat as well, good ship, but I guess I should change up the topic a bit, instead of just having your personnel transport I guess we should go for the whole shebang; your personnel capital ship, transport, and fighter.
As for me though my capital ship would be a Gladiator-class Star Destroyer, my favorite ship is the ISD, but there is something I love about the Gladiator, I like smaller ships and its got a decent amount of fighters for its size and it has a small crew.
Transport would be the Lone Scout-A, it looks like a TIE Scout but its even better in a lot of ways, can carry 3 passengers and can be used as a freighter.
Fighter would be the Alpha-class Star Wing, an Imperial snub fighter that can take a beating a deliver one, and its not half bad at dog fights.
-
I do like the Star Wings, yeah. In fact, if we were choosing how to arm our fleets, the Assault Gunboat would be my first choice to compliment the Tie Avenger.
-
Yeah the Avenger is a nice ship, I like it better than the Defender. And how to arm our fleets would be a good topic, I think I'll make it. :D

Might not be quite as powerful or as beefy shields, or outright as fast, but it's more maneuverable and a lot harder to hit.
-
T.I.E Defender personally or a T.I.E Phantom
-
The TIE defender(I choose that one too) is a great fighter. It proves that the empire can beat the rebels in every possible chance, afterall the rebels main strengh is fighters and TIE defender is far superior than anyother rebel fighter
-
Well said!
-
Capital Ship would have to be the Victory II Star Destroyer (thy are just awesome!)
Transport Ship would probably be a Dynamic-class freighter (points to anyone who knows what this is without looking it up)
As to my fighter, I am torn between two truly awesome ships: the Defender and the Hunter. The Defender is awesome, but so is the Hunter.
-
I would use a modified T.I.E phantom with concussion missiles as a fighter. as a cap ship I would have a four times larger Venator-class Star Destroyer. it would have 1600 of the most advanced fighters and bombers. as well as weapons capable of dominating a ship much larger then it.
-
My favourite ship is the y-wing.
If i was in the mood for killing everything in sight TIE defender.
Capital ship would be the Mk 1 assault frigate.
-
I would use X-Wing fighter for support the my allie force ships from bombers , i like x-wing's desing :3
Capital ship would be Venator class star destroyer or Hammerhead class frigate. :)
SORRY my bad english :D im finnish
-
I would probably do a Tector Star Destroyer with extreme modifications(Many more active point defence systems for fighters) and better laser and Ion cannons all around.
As for fighters, probably a Preybird or a K-wing
-
capital ship would have to be the bothan assault cruiser
freighter would be wild karrade
and fighter would be clawcraft, better than the x-wing and tie fighter both
-
Capital Ship: Dreadnaught Cruiser (Katana refit + drive modernization) Why? It can take out anything smaller then a MC80 and outrun anything larger
Transport: That's a tough one, I'd have to go with a YT-2400 (heavily modified) Why? It's got all the capabilities of the Millennium Falcon, but newer and better looking
Fighter: Skipray Blastboat (standard imperial issue) Why? It might fly like a tank, but it also hits like a tank and can take a beating (AKA I'm a bad pilot, if I were a good pilot ARC-170 for the win)
I'm also quite partial to the Venator, no idea why though.
-
Capital: A Praetor-class Star Battlecruiser, which I would promptly name the Razor, as it would be used to cut through enemy forces.
Transport/Freighter: The BT-7 Thunderclap. Awesome looks, great weapons, and excellent layout.
Starfighter: The BTL-S8 K-wing. It carries a massive payload, enough to vape the smile off of you TIE pilots :HA:
-
as a capital ship id want something like the katana fleet style dreadnoughts, because the dreadnought is a beast.
for a freighter type vessel, probably a modified version of the Charger c70 refit Consular class.
and as a starfighter, The Naboo N-1, The only yellow vehicle that I have ever liked.
-
Capital Ship: The Venator. Sure, it's a little old and busted, but it's got a sleek, interesting design that led to that pointy triangle we all know and love, and big ol' fighter bays. I love big hangars, and I cannot lie.
Mid-Size: The Enforcer. Sienar Fleet Systems, meet Kuat Drive Yards. Galaxy, meet a sleek, badass little mini-Star Destroyer.
Starfighter: The classic Y-Wing. Laugh if you want, but it's a workhorse - Rogue Squadron taught me that you can kill ANYTHING in a Y-Wing. Anything. The X-Wing is more nimble, but the Y-Wing can pin down targets with ion cannons, guard its own approach, and then put down a ton of firepower in no time flat.
-
Heavy cap/The SSD Knight Hammer. Stealth Black armor, reduced crew dependency, one of a kind.
Mid Size/ EotH Bu'direch. All the punch and protection of a dreadnaught in a faster sleeker chrome version with a kickass insignia. Gotta love it
Starfighter/ TIE Defender/ shields, speed, hyperdrive, tractor beam and a hell of a lot of firepower all in one loving and convenient package
-
-The Veris
My Personal ship would be a modified YT-2000 Light Freighter. Those thigs can make some damage. Mine would be equiped with 2 Laser Cannons, and 1 Ion Cannon(right under the cockpit), and 2 rotateabble quad turret in the top, and the bottom of the ship.
-
Not bad
-
My favorite capital ship: An ISD II - After all, the Empire was built upon a field of Imperial Star Destroyers. Now, I want one (preferably a fleet) of my very own.
Transport: The Enforcer. Reminds me of ISD's.
Star fighter: I prefer the TIE Defender for its supreme balance of speed, firepower, shields, hyper drive and ability to handle little add on's such as tractor beams. Sure in a missile boat I can kill a lot more capital ships and I did in my TIE Fighter days but its not my favorite.
-
Going to add an extra just because I'm iffy about one of my choices.
Capital - Praetor Mark II
Transport - A customized AEG-77 Vigo (Though this one is iffy because of how different it has been represented.)
Corvette - Customized Crusader-Class. Crew's not isn't massive, therefore easy to control. Also, it just looks cool.
Personal/Starfighter - Once again, customized, GAT-12 Skipray Blastboat. Twin Laser Turret, 3 medium ion cannons, add a twin turbo laser somewhere (maybe underneath), separate concussion and proton launcher, and lastly, room for a crew of 5 unmodified and has the ability to be manned by one.
-
I like the TIE Defender and the Nssis Clawcraft or Interceptor. Those two starfighters are amazing.
And capital ship wise... a customized Imperator Star Destroyer called the Honor's Fury.
-
I've always been a fan of Kyle Katarn's Raven's Claw, so I'd definitely have to have it as my personal ship.
For a capital ship, I'd want Tyber Zann's Merciless. Cloaking device and that giant gun. What else do you need?

An bistro?

Updated personal ship:
MC80b with two wing mountet big ion Cannons, this needs power so updated power core and hyperspace engine is 10 % faster
-
Shielded, hyperdrive-equipped TIE Interceptor.

Big fan of the Royal Guard? Why not just go with an Avenger (Advanced)? Same basic thing but even more pointy solar panels. :D

Nah. I just like the shape of TIE Int in general. Pointy, deadly little thing it is. And I'm not quite crazy enough to fly an unshielded spacecraft.
-
I think i would like to go with an
Interdictor-class Star Destroyer
You have plenty of fire power and you can prevent the enemy from retreating
as a starfighter TIE/D Defender
Shields, Hyperdrive, agility, firepower, what more could you want? ^^
-
For a capital vessel I'd want a Nebula. I love Star Destroyers, but I'm an NR groupie. Best of both right there!
An excellent mid-sizer to have would be a Bothan Assault Cruiser. Those things are just badass, no debate.
For a fighter, I'll take an Eta-2 Interceptor (the Jedi starfighters from Attack of the Clones). I've always loved the shape of those things. Give me some torpedoes and I'm set. A TIE Advanced would also be good, as would an E-Wing or X-Wing.

I adore the Interdictor SD as well, but could never in my life pick one as my flagship. It's a dangerous galaxy and I like to put self-preservation at a premium :-[, so obvious priority targets are out of the question for personal flagships.

Unless it's insanely heavily shielded. Which the Interdictor SD was not.
-
You could use the Interdictor SD when attacking ground transports with a small to medium escort fleet. But just to overkill which sort of runs with Imp tactics.
Take the Death star for instance.
-
DS1 I actually didn't like. What's the point of something that can't target ships? I have no desire to blow up most planets, so it just seems pointless. The DS2 is slightly better, although the Sovereign/Eclipse is the best usage of a superlaser.
-
That's my point what's the point of having the Death star if it can only destroy a planet.
For Overkill.
