I apologize for posting, but I've spent the last two days tearing out my hair looking for a solution, then spent the better part of an hour going through most of the threads here and not getting an adequate answer.
But while playing as the Pentastar Alignment, it's pretty much come down to a situation to where I so much as look at Thrawn in a bad way while he is in the Empire, my game crashes in a bad way.
Now, again, I apologize for bringing this subject up, because frankly, I figure you guys are all busy. But, it's come to the point to where I'm about to just screw it, bottle up Thrawn at Obroa-Skai, and go and finish the entire game stuck at Thrawn's Era simply because I can't do anything about it.
Is there any solutions available, I've attached what the except log has given for the error, so hopefully that will help.

Install hotfixes 1 and 2. Hotfix 2 specifically fixes the issue you are encountering. You may need to start a new GC however as an old save may not work so well.

Yah. That's actually the problem. I have both hotfixes already installed. And I just did exactly what you suggested anyways, and it told me the files were already there.

I'm 99% sure that was fixed in the second hotfix, according to all of our testing and reports from that, but whatever. Unless it's something new you should be able to just autoresolve him to death.

Actually, nope. I tried to autoresolve when Thrawn attacked me, insta-crash.

I'm probably just going to shelve the entire Pentastar Alignment. As much as I like dropping two SSDs on top of the peasant AI, having it crash everytime EmpThrawn gets uppity is not a fun experience.

Odd, I know I"ve done that as the PA (90% of my playing is as the PA since I'm a huge fan of the Praetor and Venators) and it was no longer crashing for me.

sadly it crashes for me too, I've tried auto-resolving and fighting it myself, but it keeps on crashing when I kill him. i have both hotfixes installed

What factions are you all playing as? The scripting is different for each set so it's possible for it to happen with one and not the others.

PA and IR.
When I'm PA the crash occurs every time when i kill Palps, but with the IR every time Thrawn dies it crashes in EoW and AoW.

I just encountered this while playing Essence as the PA. Killed Isard, no problem. Killed Thrawn with a fleet that included Jerec over Noquivzor. Doubt that info helps, but same crash as what the others encounter here after the battle ends.
EDIT: Oops, forgot to mention both hotfixes are installed.

I, once again, think I have fixed it. It'll need further testing to be sure though, might just be this method always worked.

Please do let me know if it does indeed work. I enjoy wreaking havoc with Kaine and the later eras beg to meet him.

May i ask if anyone of you had this problem after destroying a major faction?
Like Pentastar Alliance, New Republic?
If that is the case:
Don't destroy them and it won't crash ^^

Yes, it still happens if you destroy the PA, or IR. incidentally great username he was very central to Armored warfare!

i tried it:
I left alle factions a few planets and i can progress to the next era without any problem.
If I destroy one faction the game crashes

Fora. These would technically be the Thrawn's Revenge Fora with each individual board (Tech Support, News, etc) being a forum.

Yes it happens either way upon Thrawn's demise.

I have had the game crash after killing the imperial remnant thrawn as well, and I had all the updates installed. After a while I began to think it had to do with byss not "unlocking properly", so I went into the xml for the art of war and removed all the code that locked and unlocked byss and now it works fine, but byss isn't locked so anyone can claim it. hope this helped! -_^
