Which one had better reason to become a sith lord? Anakin Skywalker or Jacen Solo?
-
I think that Jacen had a better reason for becoming Sith, but i dont think that it was the best decision he could have made.
Anakin became Sith because he felt it was the only way he could save Padme, and because Palpatine twisted his mind against the Jedi.
Jacen became Sith because he felt it was the only way he could save the galaxy, you could also say that Lumiya twisted his mind to some extent.
-
But at least Anakin didn't directly kill anyone who he either loved or was related to.
-
How far off was he from directly killing Padme ? He force-choked her, and then she lost the will to live.
What about Obi-Wan ? He certainly looked like he wanted to kill him.
Or the other Jedi in the Temple ? Surely he knew some of them.
-
But he didn't love them or wasn't related to anyone of them. And how did Jacen come up with the idea that becoming sith will save the Galaxy?
-
But he didn't love them or wasn't related to anyone of them.
So he wasnt in love or related to Padme ? And you dont consider being Obi-Wan's padawan related ?
And how did Jacen come up with the idea that becoming sith will save the Galaxy?
I think that was partly Lumiya twisting his mind. Wasnt there also something about his Force visions of the future, and the only ones with peace were if he became Sith ?
-
I meant he didn't love those other jedi in the temple.
Din't Anakin also see that Padme would die if he wouldn't do anything.
And as Yoda said it: Always in motion the future is. So Jacen had nothing to support that him becoming sith would save the Galaxy. And I believe he wanted to save Tenel Ka and Allana, not the Galaxy.
-
Well, Anakin had a vision of Padme dying, and he misread it, in that it only came to pass because he became Sith. In all probability if he hadnt been twisted by Palpatine she wouldnt have died.
Yes, the future is always in motion, every little action (or inaction) influences it.
For Jacen, the path to becoming a Sith started when he killed his fellow Jedi (because he interpreted his visions to mean that it was the only way to avoid some cataclysmic event). Sure, he wanted to protect Tenel Ka and Allana, but he felt the best way to do that was to ensure the safety/order of the galaxy, so saving the galaxy from the cataclysm he had foreseen would enable him to protect those he loved.
Sorry if that last bit is a bit muddled, im not 100% sure i know what im trying to say :P
-
I bet that in the future books of LotF that event Jacen tried to prevent from happening happens. And he will die as all traitors will die.
-
I think that Anikin had a better reason. becoming a Sith for anyone has never saved the galaxy. At least Anakin knew what he wanted. Jacen just made an excuse. that he would save the galaxy by killing good people. no. the galaxy has vever been 'saved' by making sacrifices to the 'gods.'
-
Exactly. Anakin reason was more human and understandable. Why couldn't Jacen work with rest of the jedi to save the Galaxy?
-
all jacen dit was tear the galaxy apart piece by piece
-
I think so. And he will propably assassinate Cha Niathal when he doesn't need her.
-
it wouldnt surprise me if anakin killed jacen
back to topic on the lego game sith are definetly better they can do everything jedi can do and more
-

Isnt Anakin dead ?
back to topic on the lego game sith are definetly better they can do everything jedi can do and more
Err, wasnt the topic about whether Jacen or Anakin had better reason for becoming Sith ?
-
at least it was supposed to be. And yes Anakin is dead. So how can he kill Jacen?
-
I suppose someone could rebuild Anakin Sal-Solo..
-
Unlikely but perhaps. I thought that maybe Anakins force spirit has something to do with it.
-
Possibly, why cant Luke slaughter him. Hes the most powerful jedi ever, in my opoinion.
-
After Anakin, that is true.
-
Possibly, why cant Luke slaughter him. Hes the most powerful jedi ever, in my opoinion.
partly because jedi dont slaughter and to answer the orginal question neither ;D
-
Well, i wouldn't call Luke the most powerful Jedi ever...
I say that Yoda was the most powerful one.
-
i dont know, yoda knew the most about the force, but i still think Luke was the more powerful
-
Anakin Skywalker!
-
Well, he was the most powerful until he fell to the darkside.
I think that Luke is by far the most powerful of the NJO, but i also think that Jacen could make a good fight with other Force techniques/knowledge (such as the Aing-Tii Monks and the Fallanassi).
-
Luke would still kick his butt
-
Jacen is only arrogant bastard, who should've died in the Yuuzhan Vong war.
-
Anakin became a sith lord because he wanted to save Padme and Palpatine twisted him. All Jacen wants to do is make the galaxy a safe place and Lumia twisted him. In my opinion Anakin and Jacen were good people that wanted good things but were twisted by someone.
-
Jacen was trying to restore peace by fighting a war against rebels. Anakin wanted to save one person, and was willing to kill thousands of others, including children, to save that one person. Jacen may have been fighting for peace to keep Tenel and Allana safe as well, but he did not actually start the war, and almost everyone fights wars partly to make life better for their families. He may have been going about it the morally wrong way, but at least he wasn't doing it solely for personal gain.
Luke could definately kill Jacen if it came to a straight up fight between them, Lumiya and Jacen know this. the reason he hasn't is he doesn't know Jacen has turned Sith, and thinks it's all Lumiya.
-
Anakin is better than Luke.
Trying to impersonate me is NOT a good idea, joke or not.-Arbiter
-
Do NOT impersonate staff members. First and final warning.
Also, this discussion has nothing to do with whether or not Luke was more powerful than anakin...
-
Anakin had a tangible goal, obtaining the power to save Padme. Jacen is making excuses. Becoming a Sith Lord helps the galaxy how?
-
It doesnt, unless you are the sith.
-
The way I see it: Give me liberty or give me death.
Therefore I see Anakin's reason as better, he did it for the one he loved, not for peace through totalitarianism.
-
Then again Anikin would have ruled with totalitarianism had Padme not said no.
-
How do you know. I doubt he would have if it would have meant losing Padme.
-
I think thats what he just said.
-
No. He did say, "We can make things the way we want them to be." Therefore that would imply totalitarianism.
-
totalitarianism is the only way to rule that actually works well.
-
Until the other democracies kill you
-
democracy doesn't really work.
-
they still pick on the right way, lol
-
democracy doesn't really work.
Nothing works:
"Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time."
-
democracy doesn't really work.
The U.S. is a democracy and it "works" just fine. The only problem is those dang liberals and their communist ideas. They want to turn this country into a freak'n dictatorship!

-
The perfect government is communism, unfortuneately the fact that people are in charge screws it up
-
How so? Whether or not communism is the best government is a matter of opinion.
Many people would not like the lack of economic freedom offered in a communism.
-
democracy only works for the majority. Dictatorship works fine, one ruler who decides everything.
Communism sounds great, but if everybody are equal, everybody can do whatever they want.
-
A dictatorship is a horrible way to rule your government.(a dictatorship is not a form of government)
-
it is the only one that works fine.
-
Works fine? Lets see Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden, Joseph Stalin, and Vladimir Lenin. Shall I continue?
Osama is not a dictator, he's the head of a terrorist group. Or possibly, he was the head.-Arbiter
-
All of them did fine, until they attacked other countries, or were attacked.
-
And then they died, so it obviously doesnt work fine
-
Back on topic.

He acted as one.
