Title: Lord of the Rings
Post by: Tyrant on June 09, 2007, 01:39:11 AM
Has anyone read the actual Lord of the Rings books, just outta curiosity? I know most people have seen the movies, but has anyone read the books? I like the books, even though they're kinda slow at times. What do you guys think?

I give you credit. I couldn't finish the first chapter. There's a new one called Children of Hurin or something

I have read the original LotR books. they were great. they told things very differently than the movies. I mean some events in books didn't happen in movies at all. And that thing when elves come to help Rohan, didn't happen

Nor I, I think I read the first two chapters of The Hobbit. I remember seeing the first film in the trilogy, and the last but, not the second.

i dunno, i like the battle at Helms Deep (whichever one thats in) and at Minastireth, and a couple of the other bits - cant really remember cos i havent seen then in ages

Helm's Deep was Two Towers, and Minas Tirith was Return of the King. In my opinion RotK is the best. Lots of action, along with some classic humor from Gimli and Legolas.

Read Hobbit. Although I hate magic stuff ( excluding the Force) it was a pretty good read. I suspect the Lord of the rings is better i most likely wont read them.
