So, some of you may remember in past versions we had flak explosions around turbolaser shots. They basically made the battles (and screenshots) look a lot more cool, however people with lower end computers didn't like it and some people were confused about why the battlefield was exploding. So, we want to know; do you want flak back, or not?

I would like to see them back because they made the battles look more realistic and as you said more cool. i think you should make an optional patch like last time for people who dont want it.
-
I also agree that the flak effects were nice but having battles run smoothly is more important. I think when you put out the release, you should include the optional patch to allow people to choose whether to install it or not.

Agreed. I like the looks of it for a while, but on my second machine, it's getting a bit long in the tooth, and the performance hit of having it just isn't worth it on that machine.

I say leave the flak in personally. I think it's visually stunning and offer a downloadable patch for those who don't want it, that way both sides are happy.

My problem is that when an SSD fires on a squad of X wings, flak begins to show up all over the place. I like the flak, but it could be improved if it would be more selective, meaning it only shows up in an area around the firing.

I think i actually prefer it without all the flak. It doesn't really serve any purpose apart from filling the screen with explosions, and without it you still get all the proper explosions when ships/hardpoints get hit.

Yeah, exactly.
