Who here thinks that we should make a TR wiki? I think it would be a cool idea.
-
I would definantly help with that.
We would be using Wikia correct if someone did this?
No one on Wikia is Using Thrawn's Revenge so its ready to make If you decide to use it.
-
I don't know how necessary it really is. With the manual for 2.0 there's not much it could cover that the manual wouldn't already. However, feel free to start it if you want to.
-
My knowledge of units, ships and heroes is at the wikis disposal.
-
http://thrawnsrevenge.wikia.com/wiki/Thrawn%27s_Revenge_Wiki
heres the link to the Wikia feel free to modify it to ACCURATELY SHOW the UNITS and STATS of the Factions that you can play as and im looking for some administrative/Moderator people for it.
Unless i cant do it.
-
If you're going to be working on this, i'd just like to mention that anything planned for version 2.0 is still subject to change, and content that has only been published in the Admiral's Lounge should naturally be excluded from the Wiki until it has been released/announced more widely.
-
I will keep the Admirals Lounge info out of the Wiki and if someone adds it I will delete the page.
-
Hey Zsinj, I'd love to be an administrator/Moderator for this wiki.
-
Allright did you sign up for it
-
I don't entirely know how.
-
Just go to the Link i posted and look for the sign up on the top of the screen.
-
Alright, thanks Zsinj. I did it a couple of days ago now. BTW I win!!
-
what is your user name on it so i can add you to admin
-
Ooryl Qrygg.
-
your an admin now.
-
Cool.
-
What does an admin do?
-
Administrate.
-
An admin can ban people from it they can ban their Username or they can ban their IP and they get a nifty Admin bar at the bottom of the wiki. Pretty much you are just a slightly better contributor who can customize the Wiki and other stuff. But you cant make other people admins that is reserved for the Bureaucrat. And i am the only bureacrat.
-
UPDATE: Recently I have been working on filling in this Wiki. Slowly but surely I have been filling in the Imperial Remnant Space Unit lists. However, as I am relatively new to the game, I do not know as much as others, especially the New Republic and EotH. If anyone would like to assist in completing/revising the Wiki, please post here to let me know. I could use all the help I could get!
-
Looks like you're going into quite a bit of detail on the unit side of things! I'm going to stay out of this as I've the mod manual to deal with, however I'd like to suggest you update the wiki page for ICW itself to state the latest version is 2.0 with 2.1 currently in beta. :)
-
Thanks. Will do! Yeah, after writing stuff for the wiki, I can imagine how hard the manual must be. I wish you success!
-
As do I
-
Does anyone have a good screenshot of a Skipray? I need one for the wiki, and the picture on your website is a Preybird.
-
(http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070219230457/starwars/images/1/19/Skipray2.jpg)
I like that one.
-
That is a very nice screenshot
-
Thanks. I was particularly looking for one from the mod itself, but that will do.
-
Which Juggernaut does the IR get? The A5 or B5?
-
Think it's the B5
-
Just wondering because the manual says its the A5.
-
Yeah, pretty sure it's supposed to be the B5. A5 & A6 were fully armed versions that were designed primarily for combat, not transport.
-
Considering the weaponry, it looks like kind of a combination of both (the transport abilities and point-defense of the B5 with the weaponry of an A5 [without the concussion missiles]). Could a mod team member (Slornie, hint hint...?) comment on this perhaps?
-
What you don't trust us?
-
What you don't trust us?
I trust you, but I must also face the facts of the evidence I see. Most likely you are right, so someone will see this and change the 2.1 Manual. Either way, I would like to know what the rationale was to change its armament from what it had in FoC.
-
Understandable
-
Thanks. I was particularly looking for one from the mod itself, but that will do.
The Skipray in the mod is the vanilla one anyway. :)

Um. I don't actually know which one it is/meant to be anymore. It's the B5 model from FoC but at one point we were going to change the stats to those of the A5 - although I don't think that ever got implemented properly.

Ah, I figured you guys might have made your own Skipray. Interesting about the Juggernaut; are there any plans to make it more combat-worthy (I know that early plans were to make the Juggernaut a command-type vehicle like the Floating Fortress/Heavy Tracker)?
Anyway, I'm on to Maulers now. Any suggestions about tactics for Maulers (other than the same tactics used in the vanilla). Any special strengths they have? And of course, if anyone finds a use for the Chariot please LMK.
-
Maulers are really just a fast moving bomb.
-
It's also wise to attack the maulers first (if they are the enemy of course) even if there is an AT-AT firing at you.
-
Scout troopers
-
Scout troopers
Still aim for the maulers, scout troopers can be run down.
-
Grrr...Im really beginning to hate this forum, it keeps cutting off my posts!!!
Anyways, what I asked was if there were any special uses you've found for them. They were pretty worthless in the Vanilla, so I rarely use them. When I do, though, I generally set waypoints all along the map and send them on their way so that they are constantly moving (their speed is their greatest strength). I also use them for LZ rushes if I'm on the defensive. Any other thoughts?
-
I'm not an expert on them but they are extremly usefull against MPTL and AT-ATs (They won't take them down fast, but if you handle them properly, they'll surely destroy it)
-
What IR units are available to the conglomerate faction in the Zsinj campaigns?
-
Onto Noghri now. How good are they? Are they on par with Storm Commandos, Spec Ops, or Phalanx Commandos, or are they better/worse?
-
Anyone use AT-APs? I personally never have (other than the free ones when you capture the Vehicle Factories). What are they useful for?
-
They're anti-vehicle. Almost useless against infantry, but unshielded vehicles they're actually quite strong against.
-
The AT-PT anti vehicule? I can't belive it, it might just be usefull against the T-1 rebel tanks.
-
Not the AT-PT. AT-AP, AKA pod-walker. The units you get from the "abandoned heavy vehicle factory". THOSE are anti-vehicle. AT-PT is strictly anti-infantry.
-
They're anti-vehicle. Almost useless against infantry, but unshielded vehicles they're actually quite strong against.
But what can they do that TX-130s can't?
-
Ups sorry, my mistake, Still the AT-AP isn't very effective agains medium-heavy vehicules,
-
But what can they do that TX-130s can't?
Absolutely nothing, which is why noone builds them. But you asked what they were good for, and that's the entirety of what they are. IMO, compared to canon, they're underpowered, they were supposed to be quite effective because of their mass driver cannon. However in the game, they're just pointless unless you get them for free from the abandoned factory.
-
Does Convarion have PTW and PTS (like the other VSD II heroes)? Also, the Manual states he does not provide any bonuses. Is that correct?
-
Next question: does anyone use the swamp speeders or pirate skiffs for the PA? If so, what do you use them for?
-
I don't use pod walkers but when I attack I send down 8 pop down (sometimes) the extra 2 pop is used as swamp speeders to catch infantry that don't retreat.
-
I used them for cheap planet garrison, with such a stupid AI, they can do a good work even agains heavy attacks as long as you handle them properly
-
Swamp speeders are great for defending against the early NR AI, since it happens to use GOBS of infantry as it's primary forces. They're cheap enough to make use of, and very effective against infantry.
Also, will occassionally use them as a quick way of revealing part of a map for a bombing run/bombardment.
-
Question. Are you keeping the 2.0 stats until 2.1 is released for those that changed (I ask because I happened to be reading the Wiki at work for the Praetor II, which of course dropped in population for 2.1)?

Yes; since I am a beta tester I am not updating those until 2.1 is released so that I do not leak anything I ought not.
-
Kinda figured, just wanted to make sure.
Also, haven't reported them, but lots of spelling mistakes where it looks like you got autocorrected to the horribly wrong word in spots on some articles.

Most likely true...if you could point some of them out it would be great :)
-
Gonna move this to the TR discussion forum, and think of some ways to get it more visibility. Probably gonna go with a wiki for Ascendancy instead of a manual altogether as well.
ETA: Added a redirect board on the forum directory.
-
Very nice. Looks like I'll have to get back to working on the wiki (ran out of steam for a while). If you need any help with the Ascendancy wiki let me know: among other things, I can (sometimes) create good backstory for units that have none ( such as the EotH units) if you want a description/bio for the ship class.
-
Once 2.1 is released, I can start checking articles for changes that need to be made and for spelling/grammer errors to help you get them updated quickly if you'd like.

I would appreciate that for sure (especially the grammar/spelling errors; it's hard to spellcheck when you're writing the wiki from an iPhone).

I can't even IMAGINE doing that. I think I'd end up going mad.

I've come pretty close a few times, especially when you have that 5 paragraph bio written up and your internet decides to crash and reload the edit page...I just about killed my phone the first time that happened. It is long and hard, but actually pretty rewarding. I can say that the Imperial Remnant unit list (other than Noghri Death Commandos, I believe, I still need to playtest them, as I don't know how good they really are) is all written up, and the Imperial Remnant faction page turned out pretty well too (IMO anyways).
-
Whoa, when did that show up? Well, I'll be glad to lend my knowledge to the effort. I'm not as experienced as some of you guys, but I'm a great writer, so the wiki can look as crisp and professional as possible.

That would be great! If you have played as them, I could really use your help with getting the NR worked up, as I have very little gameplay experience with them. Also, if you know anything about how to make the wiki look prettyful that would be great.
-
So...anybody use the Bantha-II Cargo Skiff for the PA? If so, what role do they fill?
-
Credit wastage. Slower than the swamp speeder, not more powerful enough to bother mentioning, and just as easily destroyed. TECHNICALLY you could say they're effective against infantry, but considering they're more expensive than the Tie Crawler, less effective, and easier to destroy than said Crawler, they're utterly useless, same as the swamp speeder.

Alright, figured as much. Although they are quite fun to blow up as the IR, since they give you a free IR-aligned Stormtrooper upon their death.
-
I'm far from an expert, but did the era 3 beta-testing for 2.0, so know the ships and units moderately well from the NR. Played enough with the EoTH that I could at least assist someone who knows them better.
-
It'll be a bloody good wiki
-
I'm starting to make some of the easier changes with 2.1 released on the Wiki. Mostly just linking PA units to their page on the PA factions page and updating some of the units that changed (Praetor, for instance).
-
Thread necroage!!
Started working on the wiki again and I have a question to the mod team: When will the links on the home page be up again? I am asking because I use the pictures from the unit lists there for the wiki, and I cannot access them (thus no pictures). All I get is a 404 error when I click on them.
-
I honestly don't know. I don't have the FTP information and never had my own backup of the site. Beesden's been MIA for a few months, but he showed up a few days ago and asked what was going on with it, so hopefully he can fix it soon.
-
Alright. A question: are V-19s shielded? I don't think they are but I'm not sure.
-
Does Teradoc provide any sort of fleet commander bonus?
