Title: Strike Class Cruiser
Post by: Revanchist on May 14, 2012, 02:09:34 PM
I was just wondering how you use the Strike Cruiser. I'd tend to make wolf packs of 3-5, and use them to really pound any cap ships and corvettes so my VSD's and ISD's can focus on the Golans and my Lancers and fighters can be safe from attack by them. Any other ideas??

They're pretty much glass cannons, so I don't use them much for front assaults; I either use them as supports for ISD/VSDs, or I hold them in reserve until I can jump them in somewhere. Along with the Vindicator, they're my favourite IR unit to use in skirmish.

Yeah, the speed makes them useful for chasing stuff down at the end of a battle, but you'll experience heavy losses if you use them in the front lines.  They pack a punch, but once they're shields are down, they're toast.

They are good support ships,  normally use them for running battles on the side of the map in flanking maneuvers rather than head long charge.

Great for hyperspacing in close to capital ships and then all power to weapons, and then they take shields like nothing. you also don't usually loose many as long as you have a star destroyer or something nearby because the A.I tends to focus on capitals...
